Reviews (21) [ send in your own review/pictures of the Detroit show ]
Thanks to Yoko: Okay, so as tempted as iyam, I won't make any cliche references about Detroit being the big "ROCK CITY" or anything like that, but DAAAAMMNNN, DETROIT IS A ROCK CITY baby! Wooo Hooo!!! And the boys in VR gave 'em what they want. Barnum & Bailey aint got nuttin on dis camp. Scott climbed to the top of the speaker stack and commanded the audience in fine ubermensch fashion. Later Slash made the climb, guitar in hand, rawked the Casbah with his Gibson, then proceeded to jump down and do this little dance number that we don't get treated to very often; it's kinda like a Mosh Slash Polka-Type Thing, but with a huge grin. Thank goodness, 'cause those polka-dots are WAY too serious. Hide your wives and daughters, hide the groceries too, the great Velvet Revolver is comin through.......
Thanks to Patrick: The Velvet Revolver show was by far the best concerts I've ever been to. I have seen bands that hide their music behind the stage show with explosions and pyro. But Velvet Revolver has a very rare type of stage show to me. It says 'this is are music you don't like it leave the arena' but anyways great show guys. And your welcome back to Detroit anytime
Keep rocking!
Thanks to Tim: It was amazing to see the guys back together, tight as ever, sounding better then ever, along with Scott, this was one ass kicking show I'll never forget! Velvet Revolver had everyone in the entire theater off their feet, from start till finish, singing along with some familiar songs, and rocking to the new stuff, the only thing I regret, is that the show didn't last 8 hours!
You guys are fantastic!
Thanks to Brian Campbell: This is Brian Campbell, got back from the Detroit show the other day and its the first chance I got to sit down and write a little review. I don't want to go into tons of detail, so I'll try and keep it short. We got there at 12:30, right after depositing 355 bottles to get 35 bucks in refund money for gas :) Took us like an hour and a half to get there, not bad. Doors didn't open till 6:30. So we had a ton of time to kill! We ate, walked around, got hustled for 15 bucks by this black dude, it was kinda funny really, stupid on our part. We started standing in line at 3, we were fourth in line, so we knew we were going to be right up front! We stood in line till around 6:45 when they started letting people in. By that point, you couldn't even begin to see the end of the line there were so many people! So we headed in and ran right to the front, I mean we were holding onto the fence, only 5 feet away or less from a nice low stage. Silvertide was awesome actually, the lead singer kept trying to get the audience going and even jumped in at one point and starting jumping up and down and me along with a few surrounding people had to help him back up over the fence so the security dude could pass him onto the stage :) They were great and I think we'll be seeing more of them, they are definatly unique. They went on at 7:30 and played I think till maybe 8 or 8:15? I have no idea of time, didn't have a watch or anything. Again, no idea what time Velvet Revolver came on, but probably around 9? It was so amazing and the audience went nuts. I was on the right side where Slash was most of the time, but Dave and Duff and Scott were all over the place, so we got to see a lot of everyone. I took about 24 pictures since I was front line, but some sucked cause of hands in the way and stuff so I have about 18 decent ones, some very good Slash ones too! Slither, It's So Easy, and maybe Sex Type Thing got the biggest response since people knew them a lot and I was getting slammed into the guard fence pretty good and got kicked in the head a couple times when crowd surfers were coming over where security was catching them, it was just wild. Made eye contact with Slash while he was playing and he gave me and my friend a cool nod of appreciation, that was cool :) It ended around 10:30 or so because of the 11pm curfew or whatever. Wanted a shirt, but too broke :) All in all, it's the best show I have ever been too and I can't wait to see them again, if I had plenty of money, I'd see them in Atlantic City or something, but I hope to see some vids soon! Take care guys and gals and enjoy the shows, you will like them!
Thanks to Billboard: Velvet Revolver may introduce itself as "the band that put the punk back into punctuality," but the group of Guns N' Roses and Stone Temple Pilots alumni was 15 minutes late coming onstage in Detroit last nigh (May 20). No matter; any additional anticipation was rewarded with a powerful 80-minute set that spoke more of the members' ample experience than of a new band trying to establish itself.
Of course, "new" is a relative term for this crew that includes ex-STP frontman Scott Weiland and GNR refugees Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. Even second guitarist Dave Kushner has veteran credentials, including Infectious Grooves, Suicidal Tendencies and Wasted Youth. These aren't rookies, in other words.
But they had plenty of fresh material to play; eight of the show's 14 songs were drawn from Velvet Revolver's forthcoming RCA debut,"Contraband," which hits stores June 8. But given that only two of those tunes --"Set Me Free," which first appeared on last summer's "The Hulk" soundtrack and the first single "Slither" -- have legitimate recognition, the quintet had the temerity to dip unapologetically into its members' pasts.
"Crackerman" and a particularly urgent "Sex Type Thing" were drawn from the STP cannon. The State Theatre crowd was also clearly thrilled to hear GNR's "It's So Easy" and "Used To Love Her" (with Weiland, McKagan and Sorum singing unison vocals) as well as a blazing rendition of "Mr. Brownstone" that Weiland -- no stranger himself to the drug issues the song references -- deftly made his own.
A show-closing version of Nirvana's "Negative Creep," meanwhile, was a nice nod toward the common musical ground between the five musicians. That territory, however, was really highlighted by the "Contraband" songs, ranging from blasts like "Sucker Train Blues" "Do It for the Kids" and "Big Machine" to the power balladry of "Fall to Pieces." They sounded like middle-ground indeed -- not STP, not GNR, but a seamless amalgam of the two intertwined with other influences.
Velvet Revolver delivered each one as if it had been performing them for years, with only a somewhat muddy sound mix sullying arrangements as taut as Weiland's torso and as dynamic as his engaged, prowling stage presence.
The fit between the band members was more comfortable than is often seen with these kind of "supergroup" collaborations. It certainly helps that the three GNR alums have their tightly shared past (and are a formidable rhythm section on their own). But it's also clear that there's an aesthetic affinity with Weiland and Kushner that gives Velvet Revolver additional strength and cohesion -- a hopeful sign that this group could stick and maybe even lace out another record (or more) before we ever see one from the actual GNR.
Thanks to Justin: First of all, I just wanted to say that the State Theater was probably one of the coolest venues I could have imagined. It really set the mood for a sweet show.
Silvertide was pretty good, their lead guitar player was awesome, but the crowd just wasn't in to it. They have a lot of energy though, so I wouldn't be suprised to see them make it big if they got a single or two on the radio.
Now, Velvet Revolver...this is what rock and roll is truly supposed to be. Being only 21 years old, I missed out on all the GN'R shows, so this was my first exposure to Slash and the rest of the boys. They absolutely blew my mind. It is amazing to watch Slash, the absolute best guitar player in the world, do his thing. Totally awesome show, if you are thinking about going to one, then without a doubt, you have to do it!!!!
Thanks to Jim Pittman: Wow!!! Detroit Rock City!!! Full house at the State Theatre on a sold out muggy humid Detroit thursday night! If you get a chance to see Velvet Revolver on this mini tour please do so! This band will be huge! And I don't think you will get another opportunity to see them in a small venue again. The opening band was good and had some catchy songs but the night belonged to Velvet Revolver for sure. Velvet Revolver hit the stage shortly after 9 pm and opened the show with "Sucker Train Blues" which is a good song with a cool groove to it and even though most people didn't know the lyrics to sing along...it was still a killer song. Scott looked and sounded great and was on top of his game for most of the night. The next track was "Do it for the Kids" which I think will be a hit for the band. "Headspace" was next followed by an STP cover" Crackerman" that got the crowd fired up. "Illegal I" was next and also is one of my favorites from the new CD. As soon as you heard Duff play the first Bass lines of "It's so Easy" the whole fucking house went ape shit! For the first time in years people got a chance to sing along to a GNR classic with 3 members of the orignal band! For most of the kids at the show this was the first time they got to see members of GNR playing some classic GNR tunes. "Fall To Pieces" was next but I would have liked to see this cool ballad played somewhere else in the set than after It's So Easy, why work to the crowd in a frenzy only to cool them down with a ballad right after? I guess there's no good place to throw a ballad into the set list when all your songs rip! "Big Machine" followed by "Set Me Free" finished the first part of the show, both songs have cool and catchy grooves and lyrics to them and I enjoyed Dave's playing through both of these songs. I think this band has a soild core of players and a killer frontman to take the world by storm. The first encore started with Slash walking out and talking to the crowd then struming the first chords of "Used to Love Her" which once again got the crowd rockin'! The song of the night for me was "Slither" and they played a very cool intro before blowin' the roof off the house! This song defines what a killer hard rock song should be....Sleazy, Crunchy, Loud and Rockin'!!!
Just when you thought the night couldn't get any crazier...."Sex Type Thing" Slash style! All the diehard STP fans went nuts!! This killer cut from STP's first CD had the whole place shakin', Slash ripped through the whole song and Scott had the crowd going crazy! The second encore once again blew people away, Matt came out and started the beat to "Mr.Brownstone" followed by Slash playing an extended intro to the opening of this GNR classic. Duff, Dave and Scott joined in and smoked through this killer GNR cover. I would have liked to have seen another song to end the show than the STP cover "Negative Creep" (The Sex Pistols "Bodies" would have been a better closer) but with everything this band gave us on this hot humid Detroit night you had to walk away with an incredible experience. Walking out of the theatre after the show I think everybody realized that they just got their ass kicked by the new heavyweight champs of sleazy hard rock.....Velvet Revolver!!!!
Thanks to Played Hookey Before The Show: The venue itself was fantastic - very cool and not run down like I thought it might be. Waited in line two hours and got a spot right in front of Slash right on the rail. I thought Silvertide sounded a lot like Candlebox. They were talented and full of energy - but I can't see any of their stuff making it as a single for radio at all. I have some pictures that I'll send in to Rik as soon as I get them scanned. I really couldn't be any closer to take them even if I had a photography pass. I thought it was very cool of them to allow us to take pictures and they turned out fantastic.
I was able to meet Duff, Slash, and Matt before the show and Scott afterward. Duff and Slash were extremely friendly and made sure they signed everything before they left. Duff's wife was very easy on the eyes. Dave really wasn't anywhere to be seen. Matt was also very cool. Instead of throwing his sticks into the crowd before he walked offstage he went right up to the front row and handed them right to me and my girl - how cool! Slash also gave us a couple of picks.
The sound could have been a little better but I'm not sure if that's just because I was up front. Mainly the vocals.
All and all it was the best show I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot of 'em. I drove 4 hours and skipped a huge day at work for this and it was absolutly worth it. Especially seeing everything up so close. And I got to meet Slash - the reason I first started to play guitar 12 years ago.
Thanks guys for a great show!!!!
Thanks to Josh: Great show, first off I had seen Silvertide on the Tantric tour just a couple a months ago. They were good, but everybody was waiting to see Velvet Revolver. They were awesome. At times I was looking up there and thinking that there was a piece of the puzzle missing. A year ago I saw the new GNR at the palace and thought the same thing. However, just like them the new guy pulled it off. Weiland is very entertaining. He grips you and doesn't let go. Slash is a damn god, he's been my favorite guitar player for years so it was great to see him. The new shit is great, but i can't help but say I got goosebumps when they played the old GN'R tunes. Memories - ya know what i'm sayin. Best of luck to the guys - they're a damn good band. Oh yeah, I agree, people are still idiots at rock shows!
Thanks to Dave: Velvet Revolver just rocked! It's a show where ever single second was full of fun, excitement and high powered energy. Every song was awesome, totally awesome and it was one of the best versions of Mr. Brownstone I've ever seen. I can't believe how that song just completely rocked. The crowd was in a frenzied state and there wasn't a better place to be in the world.
Thanks to Jason W.: The show was awesome...the acoustics of the theatre were not a problem as some said. I think the sound guys are ramping up for a stadium tour though, rocking that little venue to the limits.
When Slash threw his cigarette butt into the crowd, it didn't hit anyone in the eye, but it did land in some dudes hair. After picking it out, some guys took a few puffs off of it. A few sets of jugs were also spotted in the noood. All in all rock and roll at its finest.
Thanks to Andrew: Forget what any dickweed rock critic might say...this record is gonna blow up. The show in Detroit was incredible. The new tunes were tight and the covers were spot on. Loved the talk box and the siren. These guys bring elements to the live show that I haven't seen in years. Go see this show at any cost. You will not regret it. Can't wait to hear the disc. Fucking brilliant!
Thanks to Josh Griffith: Velvet Revolver kicked so much ass! My ears will be ringing for days!
My friend and I got to the State Theater about 5:30 (even after missing our exit and getting lost in downtown Detroit), an hour or so before the doors opened. Once they opened, it didn't take too long to get in. There were some pretty cool people in line (and some scary looking ones).
Once inside, it was pretty easy to get really close. Most people didn't show up until close to showtime.
The opening band Silvertide were pretty generic and didn't really seem to get the crowd going that much. I liked them better the last time I heard them...when they were everything else on the radio. But the guitar play was really, really good.
They set up between Silvertide and Velvet Revolver seemed pretty short, 45 - 50 minutes. I expected a long wait.
Once Velvet Revolver hit the stage, the place blew up. Like most people, I didn't really know most of the the Velvet Revolver songs (but that will change in a few short weeks :)), but they were still amazing! Songs like Set Me Free, Slither and the STP and GNR covers really got the crowd going. Scott's energy hasn't diminished in the slightest. Where the Hell does he get so much energy? Seeing Scott up there with a new band was like seeing your ex, with their new significant other, but actually being happy for them.
The down side of the whole thing: I got stuck near every asshole that was shoving people, even the girls, really hard against the gate and trying to start shit with everyone. If the stupid pricks just can't have fun and rock, they shouldn't be there. But, they didn't diminish the great time I had. They were just minor annoyances. Then there was the moron that kept trying to get picks from everyone, trying to call them over so he could get one, and then got pissed when they ignored him. It was actually pretty funny.
After the show, we hung out near the stage and we were both able to get a setlist taped to the stage. Great little souvenier. On my way out, I picked up a T-shirt and hat (and the hat actually fit my big fat head!).
The whole night was great, one of the best concerts I've seen in a looooong time. Definitely one of my top 5 concert experiences.
Thanks to Shaun: Brilliant, simply brilliant. Velvet Revolver is the 'supergroup' that I've been waiting for. What are the chances that someone's two favorite bands of all time, STP and GN'R, would melt into one magnificant band?
Seeing them at the State Theatre was intimate. The next time they come to Detroit, I'm sure it'll be a much larger venue, so I'm extremely happy to see them up close.
Scott using his famed bullhorn for Guns songs was great. The parts where Axl normally sounds like a cat being run over, respectively, sounded it awesome with Scott's deep, distorted megaphone vocals. I also think the songs chosen to cover from the 'old' bands were perfect. I won't go into why 'Mr. Brownstone' worked so well, but the heavier, older STP songs were perfect for Velvet Revolver's attitude. 'Used to Love Her' was a pleasant surprise.
The opening act was OK. I was getting into their groove after a few songs, but then their Spicolli-looking frontman began speaking. He demanded the crowd chant "I ain't gonna go home," to which I felt the need to chant "Go Back To Philly!" His comments about white folks knowing how to dance, despite what most think, was a bit out of touch.
This band rocks! I'm so, so glad to see they're their own band and really, really, put their hearts into it. This is by no means a 'supergroup built for the nostalgic buck.' I cannot wait for the album and many more to follow. Velvet Revolver forever!
Thanks to Carla: This was an absolutely amazing show and one of the best concerts I have ever been to. I was a big GNR fan, but mostly a huge fan of Scott's. I truly loved STP, but seeing Scott play with Duff and Slash was really great. He is an awesome singer and the only drawback were the acoustics in the State Theatre made it so that you could not really hear his voice clearly at all times. But, that didn't even matter. This band worked the crowd and gave the fans exactly what they came to see. The mix of oldies from both bands along with new songs was beautiful. And the cover of "Negative Creep" by Nirvana (my all time favorite band) was amazing also. I love to hear that song performed live, and especially by a singer of Scott's caliber. I am sure Kurt Cobain would be proud.
Thanks to Matt Durr: This was by far the best concert I have ever seen from start to finish. Silvertide was awesome!!!! I'm having a little trouble with people saying they sound like The Black Crowes. They put in an extra effort to get the crowd into it, which has been my experience that most opening acts don't give a shit. These guys will be huge as long as they stay together. If you get a chance to see these guys with Van Halen this summer, go see them they rule!!!! I met the lead singer Walt after the show and he was just a cool guy. Real nice and not afraid to just talk to some fans after the show.
Velvet Revolver was everything I expected them to be and a whole lot more. Their chemistry was hard to deny, they look like a band that has been doing this for five years. The set list was the same as usual, but no big deal. The fans seemed like they were into every song that was played. If you can see them now or later in the summer, they are a must see. Weiland got pissed at his megaphone and broke it during one song. Slash decided to throw his burning cigarette into the crowd and gave some guy his water bottle when was playing on top of the speaker. Lots of energy from all five members and they seemed to be having lots of fun up there.
Theres been alot of talk that Duff's bass was up too high, but it sounded fine tonight. When Duff came out to sign after the show I asked him to sign my shoe and he looked right me and walked away. Don't get me wrong I would have walked away from me too and he was still cool enough to sign my ticket. He was really nice to all the fans and took lots of pictures. A fan made a comment about Axl's band and Duff replied by saying he doesn't pay much attention to them.
All in all this by far the best night ever, the concert was awersome, but I cannot say enough about how cool Walt from Silvertide was and seeing Duff that close was sweet. If you can see Velvet Revolver do it.
Thanks to Nicolle Heinkel: Well..... I have to say right off this is the best rock concert I've ever been to--- really really long time fan of Duff and Slash--18 years now so my first time seeing them might be a little distorted, although reading the other reviews I don't think so! The opening band kinda stunk..... it was really Black-Crowes/Buck Cherry-ish and not original whatsoever....heard it all before. However, we very much enjoyed our time in the "smoker's pen" and met some really cool Velvet Revolver fans, so the time wasn't completely wasted. Every song was amazing, I can't even wait for the album... I hope some of the folks taking pictures make sure to put them up here, one girl at least said she would.... I can't describe it... Scott is an amazing front man, he moves well, he has a piercing stare that pulls you right in like the world doesn't exist anymore. Duff was ripped, looking amazing and sounding great. This guy being my absolute favorite, it was heaven.... I'll spare the guys the details but the gals will know what I'm talking about. Seeing Slash play those solos live was an ultimate experience every fan should get to see.... Dave is a really rockin guy, tossed out a guitar pick to a fan which was cool, even though it wasn't me =( Matt as always, spot on and looking great himself. The set was pretty cool, simple but the lights matched the tone and speeds of the song just right.... Each of these guys made the complete experience for me... all amazingly talented, looking fantastic (without plastic surgery!!) and I'm tellin ya, Scott and Dave complete Duff, Slash, and Matt and make the GNR we were missing for all those years.... Axl who? Yup.... he's over. I'll catch every show I can possibly make until these guys can't walk on stage anymore.
Thanks to Kevin Dunn: I have to say, that was the greateast rock show I have ever seen. I mean what better hybrid of rock music can you get: Guns and Roses meets STP. I believe that the set list was the same although I'm not familiar with many of their songs so I don't know the names but all the G'N'R songs are right and all the STP songs are right too. I've been to the State Theater before but it never rocked like it did tonight. The opening band Silvertide was also a great band. I thought that they played right into the early nineties rock and I bet we will be hearing alot from them soon. Anyway back to the main show...as soon as the lights went down everyone stood on their feet the entire show. It was fucking great. We lit a couple of j's and drank some beer and rocked out. I have to say that covering Nirvana's 'Negative Creep' was a great ending, equal to the first encore a classic G'N'R song 'Used To Love Her'. The whole place went nuts anytime an old G'N'R song played. Not to been overshadowed, the Velvet Revolver songs kicked ass, and I can not wait for the album to come out (June 8/04). Thank you for one of perhaps the greatest rock shows ever.
Thanks to Boomy: Just for starters, the set-list for this show was the same as all of the other shows. I believe that they are trying to establish a level of comfort and comraderie in the band, which is a pretty good thing.
Anyways, got to the State Threatre around 7:30 PM EST from the 3 hour drive from Indiana. Had to wait in line but it wasn't really a long wait -- checked the ID, gave me the wristband in case I would be buying drinks, got a "pat down" at security check and handed the guy my ticket and he ripped the stub off. Pretty exciting stuff, eh?
I got in and went to the bar and bought a beer and found a nice spot next to the soundboard. The theatre has these tiered levels so that basically everyone in the venue has a good view. I was leaning against this wooden rail that was set-up around the crew, which was basically in the center ( a great view; could see the whole band).
I really didn't catch most of the opening act Silvertide. The lead singer basically did more advertising for Velvet Revolver than singing! He was always like "Who are you coming to see?", and everyone would shout "Velvet Revolver!"..damn straight! I didn't come to see Silvertide and I bet no one else did! All that aside, they were a decent band.
Waited about 45 minutes...the lights go dim and the band comes on. That funky riff to STB comes on and I'm like "holy Shit...it's actually them!" (this was the first time I've seen the guys from GNR in a live setting). I couldn't really make out the lyrics; not knowing the song in the first place probably had that effect! The accoustics in the State Theatre weren't all that great either, but otherwise the new stuff came across very well.
Of the new songs, the only ones I could recognize that weren't on the radio (strictly from seeing lyrics posted on the board and in reviews) were Big Machine ("We're all slaves to the big machine!" and "All that first-class shit brings me down, down, down.") and Headspace respectively.....oh yeah, how dumb of me. "Fall To Pieces" was another (Fucking Brilliant!).
The STP and GNR songs got the biggest responses, while "Slither" was, well you know -- everyone was singing it! Actually, "Set Me Free" did not get a very big crowd response, but people seemed to enjoy the new material. I, for one, think that it's astonishingly great music. It is Rock and Roll, period. To me, the songs did not sound the same. Sure, the sound was a bit muddy at times and the vocals were almost impossible to understand (hey, if you've never heard the new songs, what do you expect, right?) but this was some great stuff. I believe that"Contraband" will be one of those discs that won't leave my CD player for a long time.
Some observations:
- Good looking women do love rock and roll!!!
- Slash tossed up a lit cigarette butt into the crowd; I thought that was a bit far-fethced. Could you imagine if it hit someone's eye? I'm sure he won't be doing that often!
- People are still acting like idiots at rock and roll shows. Fuckin' crowd surfing? In 2004? It was funny; it looked like some people actually didn't even want to hold the surfer's up!
- Slash spoke a lot. Couldn't really understand it all, but he did speak.
- Scott's megaphone was out of it sometimes. Almost sounded like a cat screaching and jumping off a started engine (do any of you know what that sounds like?)
- Duff's relatives from Michigan were at the show. I think I also saw Slash's dad (?) and someone that looked like his younger brother (?) or something. I could be wrong.
Anyways.................great stuff!!! I hope to see them again in the near future.
*PS....if anybody saw a guy with a "Keith Richards For President" shirt, well, that was I!!!
Thanks to Kyle: Oh.. my.. god.... This was absolutely the best concert I have ever been to. Silvertide was ok, but the crowd wasn't really into them, I thought they were good but there were some people behind me yelling "FU, get off the stage" extremely inconsiderate, considering the band sounded like Led Zeppelin meets the Black Crowes or something like that. The lead singer sounded like Plant, they should do a cover.
Anyhow, Velvet Revolver is gonna take over the music industry by storm... they didn't play a bad song. I took a friend who was very familiar with Guns, but lost when it came to STP and the new group as a whole, and he agreed that it was the best concert he has ever seen. They really know how to work a crowd, the energy was tremendous. 'Set Me Free' was really rockin live, along with an elongated version of 'Slither', 'Do It For the Kids', 'Big Machine' (one of my fav's), 'Falling to Pieces' (another favorite), 'Headspace', it was all just so good (I do not think they played 'You Got No Right' at this venue).
Also, the shirts were really cool, I purchased the white one with the little target on it, though now I kind of want the plain Velvet Revolver black and red. Oh it was such a good show, I think after 'Set Me Free' I reached some sort of terminal velocity on wow/happiness factor, I just couldn't be any more pleased. I absolutely cannot wait for a stadium tour, though I know the little venues are really nice and close, but the energy at a stadium would be off the charts for this band, especially once the cd comes out and everyone learns their songs. Outstanding show! I could have stayed there till 4am and watched them play, even if they just kept replaying their set. Amazing.
Thanks to Greg: Detroit Rock City. Velvet Revolver. Need I say more. After reading the reviews of the past shows I had great expectations for Velvet Revolver and the boys did not disappoint. The set was amazing. The amount of energy coming from the band was unreal. As far as I can remember the set list followed closely to that of the Chicago show. One of the best moments was the explosion of 'Sex Type Thing', the heavy guitar in combination with the strobe lights was intense. Velvet Revolver mixed up the set nicely with a few GNR and STP oldies mixed in with the new. It was cool to hear Duff tell us about meeting his wife here in the D on a blind date..he followed with a shout out to his family! Only a few more weeks till we get the goods. Great show Velvet Revolver!!!
