Reviews (10) [ send in your own review/pictures of the Las Vegas show ]

Thanks to Bryan: It was my birthday and seeing that show took 10 years off my life. It was the best show I've ever seen anywhere any time. Surviving the 15 Beers, 9 Joints and a couple shroom caps was also cool. But the best part of the night was when Duff threw me a Pick. (Thanks Bro I framed it) Come back soon...

Thanks to Lacey: I didn't know what to expect from Velvet Revolver, I had seen STP two years earlier and the show rocked my ass off so I was hoping for the same effect. I was right in the front row and I was not dissapointed from this show. Velvet Revolver had some good songs and played some old favorites from GNR and STP (happy that Scott Weiland is still fond of the megaphone). I was really pleased when Velvet Revolver was coming out Scott Weiland apologized to the audience for being behind schedule which scored big points with me. Slash is still amazing! I was a bit thrown by Scott's outfit, which could best be described as "gay airline pilot." I think they rocked and will for sure check out more shows as the band grows together more. I think this is a great combo and I can't wait for more singles to be released.

Thanks to Ryan Richards: Well, this show was NOT the same set as the others. The reasons for the changes was Scott's voice. The band had many discussions, and one was right before they were supposed to do Fall to Pieces, Slash went to Scott as if to say, 'can you do this one', Scott shook it off, and they went into It's So Easy. The band came on 1.5 hours late (10pm, the opening band was done by 8:30), and to significant boos because of the wait. Scott explained he was doing many vocal excercizes and doing several treatments so he could sing tonight (a valid excuse for those who knew they had canceled shows). They changed and extended the set, from what I can tell, to what Scott was able to do vocaly. I think initially, the set was going to be even shorter (I imagine to save himself for the Weenie Roast, a more important gig). The gig was great, a bit weird coming from an STP fan (I saw STP at the Joint over 2 years ago). The set was fantastic though, and Scott sounded okay. I mostly just wanted to clarify the set.

Thanks to Kristi: First of all, let me say that I've seen STP 10 times, caught a 12 Bar Blues solo show and stood in line for 4 1/2 hours to see Velvet Revolver at last June's El Rey show. Some were incredible and a few just good, but Friday's show at the Joint was fucking awesome. Yeah, they came on late, but so what and maybe the show wasn't as long as everyone would have liked, but what great performance doesn't leave you wanting more? And as far as Scott "hurting", I don't know where these people were standing, because from where I was (right in front), all I could see was him putting on a really great show. This was one of the best concerts I have been to. Velvet Revolver totally meshed two of the greatest rock groups of our time into a sound that was completly their own. Arena rock is back...

Thanks to Gary: Holy shit that concert was fucking awesome! Yeah I totally agree with crackerman, Living Things wasn't bad at all, I can't believe people actually booed them, I honestly think that kicked ass and they also had good showmanship by giving out picks, drumsticks and some singles that they had. So after Living Things was over, we waited about 30 minutes and then Velvet Revolver came out and the crowd erupted and pushed forward a bit, I was in the front behind this one older guy who asked me to try to make sure he didn't get crushed, obviously I couldn't refuse haha. But anyways the setlist seemed as if it were the same and Scott started off in the police hat and all that jazz. Probably one of the coolest things of the night was when my older brother was waving his Jack Daniels trucker hat and Slash pointed at it and signaled him to throw it up on the stage and then Slash grabbed my brothers fucking hat, put it on and played a song with it on! It was ridiculous! I have way more respect for the "other" guys in the band like Dave, Duff and Matt. Those guys are fucking awesome and all had their chance in the spotlight to show off the chops that got them to where they were. That was by far the greatest show I've ever been to and you can bet your ass I'll be there next them they are in town. Velvet Revolver fucking rocks!

Thanks to Darian Thomas: The band hit the stage a little after 11pm, some fools in the crowd was booing, maybe they were confused and thought Axl W. Rose was in this band? Anyway, Velvet Revolver opened with Sucker Train Blues and after the song Scott immediately appologized for the delay and said that he was trying to get his voice ready for the show as he had larengitis..at one point a group of uppie punks near the middle of the venue and they were flipping the band off, Duff called one of them on it and said he didn't appreciate it and if he wanted, Duff would meet him after the show and kick some sense into him, at first I thought he was kidding and then when Duff pointed back at the fuckhead in a stern manner, I realized that he meant business and I was ready to go kick that fools ass to for getting the show off to a lame start (why pay for a show and then flip the band off becuase they don't show up at your desired yuppie hour?).

From the start of the show you could tell Scott was having a hard time singing, thankfully he had the bullhorn to help out as it was painful watching him try to push the vocals out on certain tunes. The band sounded great from start to finish, it was so nice to hear a real kick ass rock n roll show again. Matt Sorum was amazing, he was so on, just like on the cd, Duff was great as always, Slash and Dave tore it up too. Slash was on the whole night, his playing was very sharp, everytime I see Slash I walk away thinking he seems to be getting better with age, like an old bottle of wine. I hope this band will come back through Southern Cal and hopefully San Diego. This band is on it's way to taking the world by storm...and they will be the biggest thing in rock a year from now...worldwide. You guys rocked last night, Scott, thanks so much for the effort bro, I hope you get well soon!

Thanks to Zach: Yes, the show was fucking amazing. One of, if not the best I've seen. Hwever, that set list is wrong. I can't really remember the set list as I was caught up in the moment, but I know Used To Love Her was the song after Mr. Brownstone and Sex Type Thing was the last song of the night. Not that it matters, the show rocked anyways I'm very happy now.

Thanks to Gina: That [previously posted] set list listed is off. They didn't play Bodies or Negative Creep. It actually felt like they cut things off earlier than they were expecting to. It was a great show, but Scott was hurting. His performance was great, but I've seen him do better (and that's not an insult). You could tell he was only about 90% there, but he gave 100% of the amount of voice he had. He also seemed like he wasn't pleased about his performance like he could tell there was a little lacking.

It took them a while to hit the stage and people started booing, but when they came out Scott explained the delay. He was working on his voice. He was a trooper though, he went on with the show and all things considering, it was the best concert I've been to this year.

Thanks to Keith: First of all, let me say the show was great. The band lived up to all expectations and hype. The show was short. Scott is still suffering from brocitous. There was 1 hour 10 minutes, from the time the warm up band let the stage and Velvet Revolver took the stage. I'm not even going to go into how bad the warm up band was!! The crowd got very restless and started to boo after 45 minutes. After the 2nd song, Scott asked the crowd if they were really booing and played it off because there weren't enough waitresses bringing drinks around. He said he was upstairs in the room getting treatment for his throat. Over all Scott sounded good. He looked like he was heuting a little bit. He had alot of energy, but sounded like he was lacking a little in the voice. They only played for 1 hour 15 minutes, kind of disappointing. What they played was great!! I don't remember the last concert that was sooo loud!! Everyone loved the new songs, they went crazy for the GNR songs, and blew the roof off "The Joint" when they played the STP songs. Overall the concert was GREAT!!!Would have been awesome if Scott's voice held up for 3 or 4 more songs. Hope everyone enjoys the shows coming up. Best of luck with Scott's voice.

Thanks to Crackerman123: I would like to start this review off by saying that Living Things isn't as bad as people are making them out to be. This band put on a really good show which is pretty fucking hard to do in a town like this.

Revolver was the shit though man. Weiland's showmanship is second to none and they truly did put on the greatest show I have ever seen. The crowd just fed off the energy the guys put out. Someone actually flipped Duff off. That pissed me off but he said he was going to take care of it. Kushner and Slash were really amazing though as well as was Duff and you could tell the chemistry the guys had onstage was something that only dreams could be made of. But Weiland is my boy and he really was incredible. It's amazing what a great show he put on even with his bronchitis. That shows true dedication to me and if that doesn't get the media off his back then nothing will. I don't lnow the complete set list because of how crazy the show actually was but I will give you what I can remember.

All I know is I can't talk or hear but I have just witnessed something truly special and for that I am greatfull to this site, my fellow fans and the band. All I can say is wow!
