Thanks to JC: This was a kick ass concert...thank god that Velvet Revolver is together and carrying on a hard rock tradition. What a sweet culmination of STP and GNR. The only thing that was disturbing was Scott's initial outfit...he looked like Rob Halford circa 1980.

Thanks to Maggie: Well, I feel soooo bad not having a chance to post my review before this. Everyone has already said it before... but after being front row, center and and Scott letting me finish his cigarette, I agree, the best show I have ever seen!! OMG!! Vicky...was it you who got invited backstage with me, when we were talking to Matt????? If so, DUDE!!! Can you believe it????? Matt Sorum was sooooo cool! And of course my camera broke, so I couldn't get a picture. >:( He signed our VIP passes though! P.S. Scott and Noah singing, "You Are My Sunshine" brought a tear to my eye!

Thanks to Vicky Scovell: I've waited over a decade to see Slash and Duff and it was worth it! I managed to get front row and I could not say enough of the show. I love the Fillmore because it is a smaller venue so it is more up close and personal. I managed to get back stage and spent about half an hour talking with Matt. . Matt and Slash came out to sign autographs. Slash was the sweet heart. These guys are grounded and it is fantastic to see Slash, a rock god caring about his fans. I love Velvet Revolver, I love their chemistry and the performance could not have been better. They have a brilliant album and I look forward to the next one.

Thanks to Mike: Great show. We waited about an hour from when Living Things got through playing their set. They are not too bad of a band. They are just straight forward rock. Velvet Revolver came out and just blew everyone away. High octane show for sure. Scott and Slash were pretty talkative through the show. Scott at one point said that he heard Denver was not a Rock and Roll town any more, that it was a country music town and we all booed. Then he said this placed looked like a party to him. It was great. Scott brought our his son Noah after the third song in. He said that this was a special moment Noah sang a little tune with a short little mic stand and all! Played the same set list as the rest of the tour, except for the last song, which I believe was Bodies, Scott said the that band in 197? single handedly saved rock and roll. Great show, great energy. After the show we waited out back to meet up with anyone. Duff left early in a van. He would not sign any autographs and did not want anyone to touch him cause he was sick and not feeling well at all. Slash hung our the back door and looked like he was smoking a cigarette. After waiting a while we took off, so not sure if any of the guys came out or not. Great show though! One of the best nights ever!!!

Thanks to Zayde: The show at the Fillmore was the best show I have ever seen. We were several feet away from the stage. The energy was so high! I had never been that close to the stage at any concert. It was unbelievable. The entire crowd was rocking out so hard to the new hits of Velvet Revolver and to the old hits from GNR like "Mr. Brownstone" and "Used to Love Her" and old hits from STP such as "Crackerman" and "Sex Type Thing." Being able to see Velvet Revolver's expressions on their faces was so amazing. They played pure rock and roll, including a cover of Led Zeppelin to end the night, paying homage to the band that in 1976 almost single-handedly saved rock and roll.

Thanks to Andrea: Thank god for Rock'n Roll. Thanks to the band for putting on the greatest show I have ever seen. This union of musical gods brings back to music exactly what we need, hard f***'in rock n roll music that knocks you on your ass and brings a tear to your eye (mine anyways). Also, thanks for the covers! Dream come true.

Thanks to Birgitt: I have now seen Velvet Revolver twice and this Denver show kicked so much ass! The guys seemed to really be enjoying themselves giving us the love and the crowd was givin' it right back. It's awesome in smaller venues and it is an up close, sweaty show this is definetly a tour not to be missed! It was so sweet to see and hear Noah sing Oh My Darling Clementine and how proud Scott was. It truly made me happy to watch them interact- Scott you are looking sexier than ever, keep it up!

Thanks to Amaro: Amazing!! I really think the band fed off the crowd, because they were on fire. I was in front of Scott the whole show on the rail and the energy was amazing. Go see them!! You will not be disappointed. I really hope they come back.

Thanks to John Gardner: What an incredible show! This show was more than I thought it could be since Velvet Revolver has only been playing together a short time - but I should have known better!

A little background on the show in Denver on Sunday night. They played the Fillmore - which is the best place you can imagine seeing a band like Velvet Revolver. It holds about 3500 - and I'd say it was a sell out for sure. The place was jammed when we got to the show - I've seen many shows at the Fillmore and it was packed full! The Fillmore has great sound due to the layout so you knew the sound would be perfect!

Velvet Revolver came on around 9:25pm or so and the crowd was ready for the action. They played the set list as it is scanned in on this site - and it was a great one! I had listened to the new CD many times before the show and knew all the new songs - they were fantastic if you ask me. The STP and GN'R songs did get the best response BUT the new songs are starting to be known as well! Obviously everyone knew Set Me Free and Slither due to heavy radio play.

As far as the sound was concerned - I thought the mix was perfect. I have read reviews about the sound noting heavy bass, trouble hearing Scott and Slash, etc. - but that was not the case tonight. Everyone could be heard perfectly - the sound could not have been set up better. Scott's voice was great - and you could hear every note of Slash's solo's. I wouldn't have changed a thing - the sound was excellent!

Overall I couldn't ask for a better show - these guys are a well oiled machine ALREADY - they are not ready for prime time - they are in it! This will probably be the last time I get to see them up front at a venue like this -I won't forget it!

Welcome the new Rock n' Roll of the future - Velvet Revolver will set the tone!

Thanks to Monn: First the Living Things was really good. They play rock n' roll to your face and pretty loud. They don't sound like anyone although it is rock and roll, mutherfuckers!!! Anyways, it was a long fucking time before Velvet Revolver started their set. But once they hit the stage, man! fucking cool. The place was packed and since the beggining, the whole crowd sang along on every verse and chorus of every song. It felt really cool that in the eyes of the band, you could see the excitement of seeing such a crowd. Scott's first speach was that he was told that Denver forgot about rock n' roll and that all we listen to was country. The crowd went nuts and kept screaming. Then I think after 2 songs, Scott called up for 'Spider Man'. Somebody brought a short mic stand and there he was, his son. They sang together this song >>"You are my sunshine/My only sunshine/You make me happy/When skies are grey/You'll never know dear/How much I love you/So please don't take my sunshine away." And even though the song is not on the set list, you might wanna consider it in it. That part with the son was awesome. The crow again screamed so loud and Scott looked so happy and smiled at his son. Then Slash told the crowd that only Scott was able to do that and that he was a great man. They continued rocking fucking hard and Scott's son always wore headphones while he was standing on the side of the stage in the back. Later in the middle of 'Illegal I Song', they did an instrumental where Scott kinda played along with a synthesiser and later he chaged to maracas. At one point Slash played the talk-box which was amazing. Then on 'It's So Easy', the crowd got wilder... jumping and screaming. I was located up front and a little to the left of the stage where Slash was located, although he spent as much time in the other side running back and forth as well as Dave and Duff. At one point, Slash talked about the record and that people were saying that it was never gonna happen. So he continued saying that they are here and rocking and that the album is number 1 now. Scott said that before he wouldn't have given a shit about a #1 record but that now he's so gratefull. Before 'Set Me Free', Slash told the crowd that there was a guy in the show back from Iraq and that this was his first concert in god knows how long. So Slash kinda dedicated that song to him... and at the end Slash and Dave shared solos and finished with everyone rocking. So the first set was over and there wasn't a time where the crowd stop screaming really fucking loud. Some crew guy put Slash's top hat on top of the Marshalls cabinets and the crowd, of course, crazy again. Later Slash came out and said that he wasn't the first one to wear the top hat. He named some musicians that have wore it before including Alice Cooper. He continued saying that our favorite was the one he was wearing... so he started 'Used To Love Her'. On 'Slither', they do a long intro to the song and also Slash does a second solo more with feeling. They played the second encore almost right after the first one was over. At one point Duff laid down in front of where I was and reach to the crowd with the arm of his base... everybody reached for a bass-pick which were at the end of the bass's arm. Matt came out playing the intro for 'You Could Be Mine' and he continued playing the intro for 'Mr. Brownstone'... fucking cool!!!! And at the end, Scott's said something about a band in 197? that could've been something about rock and roll, I don't remember really well what he said. So they started playing 'Bodies' which I think it was cool because they don't play that song on every show. I got a set list and it says on it 'Negative Creep' at the end. I think this is the set list Slash had on his feet.

Slash brought some guitars I've never seen. They are really cool and more modern. He also looks slimmer and in better shape. I saw him in 2001 and he looked really bad and kinda fat without shaving. Now he looks almost like in the GN'R era. Duff is fucking strong and Dave rocks. Matt fucking plays so hard that he could break the drum heads. Scott sing really fucking great and his stage presence is awesome. I saw him when they played the KROQ festival and I thought he wasn't the right man for the band, but after seeing the show last night, I think he is the fucking greatest front man I've ever seen, really. So there you have it, a good detailed review. Oh, Slash love the crowd and said we were beautiful and great. He was really amazed!!!!!

I forgot to mentioned that Slash and Scott hugged like two loving brothers at one point and some times Slash and Duff played facing each other. You could really feel and see the brotherhood they had towards one another. Also at the end of the show when we were waiting in the back of the venue for the band, Duff came out and he left right away because he said he wasn't feeling good. When the van where he was drove by the crowd, he rolled the van's window down and nicely he tried to explained his situation. Later there were rumours that the band wasn't coming out so since I was fucking tired I just left.

Thanks to Heather: This concert was awesome. It rocked. Concert had a lot of energy and sounded great. These guys will definately be around for a long time. Velvet Revolver is awesome.

Thanks to Brian: All I have to say is this is one of the best concerts I have seen in a long time. Duff said this record was done in less than three weeks and was a live album. After hearing the show tonight I believe him. The live show is a must see, it sounds very close to the recording only it just has alot more energy behind it. Go see the show!
