Thanks to Tony: I have been going to shows for 20 years including GNR at L'Amours in Brooklyn and at Giants Stadium in New Jersey and this was one of the greatest shows EVER. The venue, the weather, the MAXIM girls, the casino, the small crowd... met some great people and spent the weekend! Even Hoobastank of which I'm no big fan put on a good show. Then the main event.. the crowd went nuts! I was a few feet from Slash! Scott was his usual "rock star self"--and I mean that in a good way! These guys were unbeliveable! A must see! And when they did Sex Type Thing, It's So Easy, Used To Love Her and Mr Brownstone no one cared that it was Scott with GNR or that Axl wasn't there... it was great! "If you see one show this summer"..lol.. see this one! I hope you guys come back here next year!

Thanks to Heather: While Velvet Revolver was what made the show amazing and the overhyped Maxim party well worth going to, I am a bit dissapointed in what exactly went down amidst the crowd. I do recall Slash even making a comment towards the end of the show "and for any of you that had the balls to bring your girlfriends here". The one hour wait allowed the very drunk and strung out crowd to become more restless and aggressive, but if you cannot handle your shit, stay the fuck home.

It started off with some crowd surfing, not a problem. However, by the third song, Headspace, along came the meatheads and guido wannabees from New York with Kangols on throwing elbows and pushing people, including a number of girls I watched get pushed down and kicked, so these assholes can start a mosh pit. I recall a statement from Scott that went like went like this: "Those young boys who are sexist, male macho kids are the same boys who play in those nu-metal bands who don't do anything about the fact that there is violence that goes on in their mosh-pits, when women are being manhandled and their crotches are being grabbed and their tops are being ripped off and their panties are being ripped off! Those kids just grow up and run the country and it gets carried over again, and again, and again, and again."

My point being? When my fucking tit is grabbed at a concert and the girl next to me is being thrown and pushed down because some asshole with shrunken balls who sticks steroid needles in his ass has to start a mosh pit or get closer to the stage to suck Scott's dick should learn what "rock and roll is all about". These are the people who didn't even buy the album and were never fans of Guns N' Roses or STP. These are the jocks and coke heads who thought it would be awesome to go to a concert sponsored by MAXIM, get fucked up all day even though they know they can't handle their drinking and drugs b/c they stole it from daddy's stash anyway or got lucky enough to score some for the day, and possibly get laid.

I'm upset the way shit went down at this concert. I had an awesome experience at the Electric Factory. There was some pushing, which is unavoidable, but nothing like what I saw in AC. ( I had to vent....sorry)

Thanks to Rich: What can I say, this was definitely worth the wait. I am the guy who got the fake ticket for the Roseland-NYC show......I think this was the 1st show the boys played at an outside venue, with close to 7,500 hundred east coast rock fans ready to rip and tear-and Velvet Revolver did not disappoint.

From the time Duff stood on top of the platform at the center of the stage for the opening riff of Sucker Train Blues...one word describes the atmosphere "explosive!" every cord/riff from Slash/Dave/Duff was on the money!!! Matt was kicking ass better than ever, dude where do you get all that energy!!!

Mr. Weiland, my hats off to you man, what an incredible performance...I hope you don't get anymore of those fuckers in your headspace- cause dude you will last!!!

Scott said, they say he doesn't write any positives songs, then they kicked into headspace....loved the extra solo and experiments on Illegal i Song.

Met a couple Rob/Tina, big STP fans and we had great time rocking to this new ass kicking rock and roll band...cause as Scott put it, we're Velvet Revolver and we play rock and roll!!!

As a GN'R fan from '86, there was no better way to end a show then with Mr. Brownstone...I was just hoping they would have added Superhuman or Dirty Little Thing....any way, scored tix's to the 7/29 show @ the Starland....keep ya posted....

What a crazy show this one was compared to the Roseland show! My husband and I got there early-ish so we could go gamble a bit (slot machines here I come!). Won a little lost a little...anyhow around 5 pm we decided to go check out exactly what all this Fantasy Island stuff was. To be honest with you, it was not that thrilling. In fact, I think they made it sound way better than it actually was. But it was okay, because the only REAL reason we were there was Velvet Revolver.

We went back inside to gamble some more. It got to be around 7:45 and we said we better go out there and stake out a spot while Hoobastank was ending their set. Well...somewhere between the bathroom and the parking lot, I lost my ticket! It was in my back pocket...until then. We flipped out because I would have died if I missed Velvet Revolver. It was also another 100 bucks to buy a ticket! But my husband pulled a good line of shit at the box office and managed to get me a free ticket :)

Whew! Now we were ready to rock. Got up as close to the front as possible and waited for what felt like forever. We must have been about 8 or so feet from the stage. People were crammed in so tight, though. I am a short and small girl so it was getting crazy with all these big, drunk frat boys leaning all over me and pushing and being tall. But we stuck it out until the band finally came out. Crowd went nutso!! They played the "usual" setlist but that was fine with us! They really sounded great, just like the last time. The view was amazing...the band was in total view and you could see everything perfectly. It came at a price though! I've never been quite so sweaty or tossed around or dirty in a long time. Maybe ever! Luckily there was this nice guy who was looking out for me...he lifted me up on his shoulders at one point during "It's So Easy" and I swear I had the most awesome view of Scott, Duff and Slash, right in front of my damn face. It was amazing. And maybe it's just wishful thinking but I'd like to think I saw them all smile my way :)

They were all very energetic and the crowd must have been sending off some crazy energy as well because it was just pure chaos (in the best of ways). Scott asked how many of us "lost our asses on the blackjack tables", which was such a relevant question to ask! There were a lot of assholes in the crowd but we managed to overlook it. Except for towards the end when some sweaty headbanger smacked me right in the forehead with the back of his head...ouch. I have a bruise there and also some mystery ones on my arms. Battle scars baby!

They ended with Mr. Brownstone which of course made the crowd go psycho. Sounded awesome. All in all it was a great experience despite all the crap. I think that shows how great this band is, when you can put up with men 3 times your size leaning, crowd surfing and throwing their weight all around you and still come out with a huge smile. Everyone was dirty as hell once it was over. But I think we all felt amazingly satisfied.

Thanks to Stone Pony: As usual Velvet Revolver rocked! The setlist was expected and being 2nd row from Slash what a blast. The Maxim Bash I thought sucked and was expensive. I'm all for partying for a concert but in a general audience who have been drinking hard all day and letting them loose to a late coming on Velvet Revolver who will juice you up just being sober was a bad idea. A lot on people close up to stage had to escape the raving drunks punching, puking and pissing on people..a few were hurt, and a lot upset that they had to flee their great view because of assholes that security should of weeded out being so close to front-stage. I think Scott seen some of this and backed of the encore and was pissed security was unorganized due to a Borgata/Maxim presentation for the first time which a huge Headliner Act. But besides the jerksin the crowd..Velvet Revolver was on fire. I really enjoyed the added variations and change up in some of the songs..experience at its best!

Thanks to Mateo: Best concert ever. I don't think anything can beat being 3 feet from Scott weiland, Slash and the rest of the band so I'll just leave it at that. The only thing that would have enhanced the night would have been a blow job but being there up close more than made up for it.

Thanks to Matt: Same setlist as usual, except they ended with Mr Brownstone and didn't do either the Nirvana or Sex Pistols cover. I think they were supposed to play it...after Mr Brownstone, I noticed Scott walked off the stage, threw his megaphone across the stage and a second later threw his mic out too - looking kinda pissed off. I saw Dave look over at Scott and I guess realized Scott was done and then waved and the rest of the band followed and went off stage.

Thanks to Chris: I really don’t know what else there is to really say about this extraordinary band Velvet Revolver but what I will say is if you haven’t seen them yet get your ass up and get to a show. Last night Atlantic City was shown what real rock n roll should be and boy did they not disappoint. First off the set list was the same as the other shows but they only came on to do Mr. Brownstone for an encore they did not play Negative Creep. I thought the show in New York city was the shit but I appreciated this show last night a little bit more for the fact everybody there knew all the lyrics to the album being it was now out for everybody to get.

Highlights for me was the extended version they did last night on Illegal i Song, Scott and Dave were experimenting with some sound effects and then Slash ripped into a terrific solo with his talk box. There was also the hardcore ending to Set Me Free with Dave and Slash trading killer riffs back and forth showing there brilliant skills. Slither was another stand out song getting the crowd really into it with an extended build up in the beginning of the song to the number #1 rock song in the U.S.A.

Finally there was Mr.Brownstone where you had guitar god Slash play the whole ending of Mr. Brownstone behind his head it was unbelievable. Scott Weiland also put on a terrific performance and seems to be doing great showing why he is the best rock n roll front man out there. The only thing left to say is if you haven’t been to a show then you better get your ass in gear and while you are at it go purchase the #1 cd of 2004. There is no reason the Beastie Boys should be selling more copies then Velvet Revolver.

One last note there was some people filming the show but I am not sure if it was for a future dvd but I figure I would pass that along. Kike Scott always says we are Velvet Revolver and we play fucking rock n roll!!
