Thanks to Bert a.k.a. Nightrain: Well, I stood next to Martin whom I met before the show [greetings from Lienz..] and I´ve been as excited though. I´ve been listening to their music since thirteen years or so.. so they´re truely gods to me. I liked the intro of "Slither" very much and cried out my guts during the G`N`R songs. It´s great that Slash and Duff are still rockin´ out everything they´ve got! - So I´m very proud of them and pleased after finally having rocked live with them! Used ta do a lil´ but a lil´ wonna do it so ta lil´got mo and mouo.. !!!HeavyoN!!!
Thanks to Martin: That day I was with friends and people I got to know at the Festival for 11 hours only for Velvet Revolver. After their bus finally arrived, they were in the backstage area really quick. The show was incredible. The fans were unbelievably great! I've never felt such a spirit that connects all the fans like I did before and during this show. We hugged, cried, shouted some GNR and Velvet Revolver-verses and were totally nervous.
It was the first time in my whole life to see my gods live. I was excited as hell and soon had no voice anymore :) The show itself was great. Scott's vocals were too quiet sometimes but I was so near to him in the front that I nearly could hear him personally:) For the fans in the front rows it was hard and totally exhausting, I nearly died there but it was the best times of the festival and (musicially) of my life. After the show, I saw Slash and Matt going back to their bus.
In the end I could bring one poster of the album, one Velvet Revolver signature-Ddumstick that Matt signed for me, another Matt-signature on an album-cover and a guitar-pick of Slash home. And you can imagine how I was the luckiest and happiest fuckin man in the world.
Thanks to Pikk: The concert was great! Scott Weiland rules! I had never saw such a performance from a rock band. Velvet Revolver!
Thanks to El Dinho: The gods were in Austria and I was part of that! Incredible ...the best show I´ve seen in my entire life. Velvet Revolver on stage = pure power, pure adrenaline = simply real rock n` roll. The setlist was the same as almost. Why don´t they play "You got no right" I wonder always [I also missed "Superhuman", excellent song]... who cares. "Fall To Pieces" is going to be an evergreen soon, from my point of view it`s even better than "Sweet Child Of Mine", it`s amazing how touching Scott sang that one. "Headspace", "Slither" and "Big Machine" rocked as hell!!! To see Scott, Slash and Duff on stage ... my god, they are really the last of a kind.
The Gunners songs and also the STP material fit perfectly to the rest of the Velvet Revolver-programme. For all people who think that Nirvana was the best and hottest band of all times ... go and watch Slash, Duff and crew playing "Negative Creep" - that`s how it should be, much better than the original. The last and only true rockstars on this planet are out to save rock n` roll! I bet they will succeed.
Thanks to Burt Bombast: Yesterdays show was really good. I liked the setlist, though they got not much choice, what to play after releasing just one album. Suckertrain Blues, Fall to Pieces and Mr. Brownstone were my favourites. 2 songs or so I didn't know. They are not on the album and I guess were no covers.
At the beginning Scott's vocals weren't loud enough, but after a few songs the sound was great. When they finally played Negative Creep you couldn't hear much of singing and drums, just guitars, but hey, who cares, for it's just a grunge song.
The guys were in great shape! They all, but especially Scott was jumpin' and runnin' around like mad all the time.
They also played very good, and I liked the background vocals of Matt and Duff! I just got one tiny mistake of Slash at the beginning of the first Fall to Pieces Solo.
All in all it was a great show, the crowd was very satisfied especially when they played Guns N' Roses Songs, but that's no surprise I guess.
Greetings from Austria.
