Thanks to Velvet Revolver Fan: I drove 7 hours to see Velvet Revolver in Nashvile, TN and they put on a killer show except for the fact that it was way too short. I was in disbelief when they did not come out for an encore. Besides, almost every other show prior to that one had 2 STP songs and 2 G'N'R songs plus an encore. They played a much longer set the next night in New Orleans. Despite the short set in Nashville, I have bought tickets for the Mistletoe Jam anyway. I hope it was just Scott's throat and they plan to play a long kick ass set in Atlanta on 12/5/04. I hope they don't dissapoint me twice with a short set. I have been a G'N'R fan since 1987 and I have loved STP since the first time I heard Sex Type Thing. I still listen to G'N'R, STP and now Velvet Revolver every day. I will go see Velvet Revolver every time they are in my area as long as the setlist is a little longer. Velvet Revolver, if you read this come to HOB, Myrtle Beach too.

Thanks to Sarah: It was a really good show. Yeah my friends and I were dissapointed at first. We finally got in the seats for the Saliva, Sevendust and Velvet Revolver. Slash is the best guitar player ever...I don't care what you Hendrix fans say and it's even better being 5 rows from the pit. But I'm sure it was even better in the pit. And the booing... that sucked! That made us really mad. But it don't matter....lol. 4 teenage girls. We don't count. I hope they play antoher show for us, we dont get many good shows. Oh and when Scott said to make noise that this wasn't a Shania Twain concert...one of my friends first concert was her! lol... We're givin her a hard time about that. Slash rocks!!

Thanks to Eddie: First of all, I love this band. I think it is one of the greatest writing teams around. However, they played about 45-50 minutes and they left out about 3 songs that could have made the show as good as it should have been. Personally, I drove a long way to see Velvet Revolver and 7dust. 7dust didn't let me down. They never do. However when I drive 2 hours to see a show and sit my ass out under a windy pavilion for 9 hours getting wind chapped and bored from 9 other bands that suck, beer is 8.50, pizza is 6.00, you need to at least play longer than the previous bands before you or the venue needs to have you on early enough to play a set worthy of people's money. Other than that, fantastic show.

Thanks to Dan: I have been a fan of GnR since I was a kid. Fell in love with STP back in '94. I consider myself one of the biggest fans of Scott and Velvet Revolver, but I have to say I was pretty pissed off. Let's see...traveled 3 1/2 hours to see a barely hour long show. Was trapped inside Starwood for 10 hours and couldn't leave...that would have been nice to know before we entered.(Not Velvet Revolver's fault I know...but damn!)"Hey, buy this autograph book; Velvet Revolver is going to sign autographs before they go on." Yeah...didn't see Velvet Revolver doing any signing. Oh, the autograph book was also the only way to get a schedule to find out when Velvet Revolver played. I guess that didn't mean shit either...because they were 30 minutes late. And for the grand finale...no encore! With an abrupt fuck you, the show was over. No kisses...no reach arounds...just big fucked us! Other than that...the show was great and Velvet Revolver is still the best band in Rock n Roll today.

Thanks to Jeremiah: I drove from Indiana to see this concert and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Velvet Revolver's performance was fucking unbelievable! The rest of the concert was mediocre but Velvet Revolver definitly kicked ass.

Thanks to James: Let me say the show was fantastic. However, Velvet Revolver, for some reason came on stage thirty minutes late. That drasticly cut down their stage time. They were scheduled for 10:10 - 11:30. They were on stage at 10:40. Those fifty minutes were awesome, but they should have played longer. Also, they didn't give us an encore and hardly said goodbye.

Thanks to Chris: Well to all you people that were complaining are negative about the length of the concert. I think the Tennesse paper said the lead singer was sick and had a sore throat and he wouldn't last long so he tried his best and sung what he could. For that, that man is fucking good to sing that long with a sore throat that could have went out on him at anytime.

Thanks to Jason: Just a note... there was no encore because of the cerfew of the venue. It wasn't the guys fault, except it took way too long for them to start their set. I'm pretty sure they were all ready for an encore. Time just wouldn't allow it.

Thanks to Marybeth: The concert was amazing! How often can you say a band performed better live than on an album? This was by far the best concert of my life (and even better than STP ever played). There was so much energy from the band and in the audience. Scott was his usual, fabulous self strutting about, climbing and jumping off shit and comanding the crowd. If anyone hasn't seen them live, you need to make a point of it. I would see them again in a heartbeat.

Thanks to Bryan K. Pounds: This is the second time I've seen Velvet Revolver, the previous being at the Rolling Rock Town Fair in Latrobe, PA. Let me just say that first off I thought the whole concert was great.. aside from no tailgating in the parking lot. (Which by the way after a case of beer we found out we could not do.. but I digress) I had tickets inside the pit, but I stayed in the lawn until Lit came on to play. Lit was good, Sevendust and Saliva were great, but it was apparent that it was just foreplay for Velvet Revolver. They went on at about 10:45, in front of a huge banner that read "Rock and Fucking Roll" and put on an awesome show. The setlist above is correct. Everybody was into it and it never ceases to amaze me how many people knew all of their songs and lyrics. The only thing I wish is that they would've played a little longer, but since it was a festival of sorts I guess that was out of the question. Overall, I had a great time and it was well worth driving 8 hours in both directions to get completely hammered and rock the fuck out. I took two camera's worth of pictures, so I'll post'em soon when I get them developed. Long live Velvet Revolver, and long live Rock and Fuckin Roll.

Thanks to Jason: I traveled 8 hours to see this show...it was a great show but I think they need to work on playing a little longer!!!! All of the songs that Velvet Revolver played were nothing less than pure rock and roll. This band is great live if you have the chance go see them. I just hope they play longer at other venues....we all know they can. I think that is why most fans at the buzzfest were dissapointed because they all new there was more but didn't even get an encore. But in the end we all saw what we went to see, one of the most powerful rock bands to ever be put together.

Thanks to SLMako: Well it was no doubt the best 50 minutes of rock I've ever witnessed. But that was the problem. It was only 50 minutes. Had they started on time (30 minutes late) they would have been able to play at least 80 minutes if not longer. Also, there was no encore. They literly just walked off the stage. There was no warning or big goodbye.
I drove 5 hours to see 50 minutes. Velvet Revolver is by far the best rock band out there right now, but I feel like they could have given it more. I wouldn't be suprised if this show was their shortest post-Contraband show.

Despite my bitterness about that, they were amazing. Slash and Dave went back and forth on Set Me Free doing insane solos and Scott is one wild man on stage. They really are as good as I could hope for. It's just that I would expect lateness and an abrupt ending from Axl Rose, not Velvet Revolver.

Thanks to Geordy: Saying they performed an hour long set is being mighty generous. The band hardly played for 45 minutes. And this, after the radio station had been saying all day long that Velvet Revolver would be playing a full set. So this is the first night of their world tour...they played longer at all of their club shows, right? I was very disappointed with such a short set. However, for the little while they did play, it was a very good show.

Thanks to Randy: It seemed to me that Velvet Revolver wasn't completely happy with being in Nashville, TN last Saturday night. This concert was resheduled from September to October when I bought the tickets. I really didn't know they were going to be there. I have been to the show that 102.9 the buzz puts on every year for the last 3 years so I went and bought the tickets based on my previous experiences. When I finally heard that Velvet Revolver would be the headline I really got excited.

Well it really was a great day and the bands were all great, but it was somewhat of a diss when Scott Weiland said "we fuckin Rockin Roll even in Nashville, TN." I thought from that point that they felt the Nashville gig was a little below their standards. And as it turned out, they were almost 40 minutes late before they finally started their set. This seemed to be another slap in the face for the Nashvillians that attended. As it turned out this concert was great till late night when the breeze really was cold out there and so it really dampened the spirit of some of the people around me. It seemed that Velvet Revolver just wanted to get the hell out of Nashville as soon as possible. They really did perform great when they realized the Nashville fans were there and really wanted them to be there. But still it seemed to me that among all the music they had to choose from, they could have at least played one encore. But no, it was just goodnight after Slither and they were gone.

Thanks to Tyler: I was in the moshpit last night and I thought they were awesome. I didn't mind waiting for a little bit for them to come out on stage. They probably only played for maybe 45 minutes, I was kinda disappointed that it didn't last very long, but what they did play was amazing. I was maybe 2 feet from Slash. As I was walking out I heard people in the audience booing, because it only seemed like they were on stage for a few minutes. I guess that's what you get for having a headlining band that only has one album. I will definately go and see Velvet Revolver again, they were awesome last night, when they get some more albums out and songs out, they will definately be one of the greatest ever. Great show, but wished they played a little longer.

Thanks to Rich: First time seeing Velvet Revolver in concert. As a longtime GNR fan and a Velvet Revolver fanatic it was all that I could have asked for. They absolutely rocked the roof off the ampitheatre and brought an energy and kick ass attitude like I've never seen. The crowd was very into the music even the fans that came to Buzzfest for other bands such as 7dust and Saliva. They played the usual Sucker Train Blues, Do It for the Kids and Big Machine to start off, all done exceptionally well. When Scott told the crowd it was time for Fall to Pieces the crowd went nuts and they sang the entire song along with him. Slash tore up the extended solo and was completely in the zone. After impressive versions of Sex Type Thing and a thrilling It's So Easy Scott got the crowd going by saying, "Let's make some noise Nashville, this is a Velvet Revolver F@#%ing Revolver Concert, not Shania Twain." They finished up the show as strong as they started, finishing with a moving version of Slither. Slash even put his top hat on for the song, which the crowd had been screaming for all show. The only downside of the show was when they did not come out for an encore, but that's understandable since it was a festival. Overall I couldn't have asked for a better show. I am definetely going to do all I can to catch them on another one of their tour date.

Thanks to Metal Mamma: I saw Velvet Revolver last nite and I must say I was not disappointed. They fukin rocked the place out... I was in the mosh pit and was at the stage and it was awesome you could hear the crowd singing with Scott to all the songs they played. I only wish I could see it again. They were all on cue and sounded amazing together. I must say I was so impressed with their version of It's So Easy they sounded amazing on this song too. I hope Velvet Revolver will come back to TN soon I will pay $100 again to see them. Hell I would even drive hours away to see them.

P.S. this was my husbands first concert and he loved it and he wants to see them again too. Words can't describe the show, it was just awesome and Velvet Revolver was on cue and rocked us all.

Thanks to jmufkinr: First, I would like to say I've seen almost every large act that exists today. Manson to Ozzy, Flaming Lips to White Stripes, Guns n Roses to Def Lepperd, Chris Isaak to Sade.... I have a broad music taste, but this was probably not only one of the most anticipated shows of my lifetime, but probably my absolute favorite concert I have ever been to.

I'm not saying this because I am some fan of the current hot band, these guys were amazing! I would like to point out that half the people at the show were there for proabably 7dust, not to mention me partially, but what makes Velvet Revolver so perfect for a live concert is the fact that you don't just mosh to the music, sometimes it's meant for you to listen, sometimes mosh, sometime watch legendary icons bust into a solo, sometimes you can watch Scott dance and sometimes you can watch one of the best solo guitar composers in history spit out gum and see it get stuck in his hair only to take his hand off the guitar like he doesn't give a fuck he's in the middle of a song knock it out and hit the security gaurd in the face with it. (really did happen)

You never knew what was going happen, except maybe what the setlist might sound like. Not to mention that this setlist played loud just makes you want to cry it's so fucking beautiful.

It seemed like people knew the words to every single song. I was a bit letdown that there were no encores, which to my knowledge they've always done an encore till last night, however the show was so perfect I would have wanted more whenever they ended. They also went on about a half hour late or so but who cares. This is my new band for sure hopefully for a long time.

Thanks to Frazier: The show was great except for it only lasted maybe an hour. There was no encore. Great show, could have been something real special if they had played longer though.

Thanks to Jim Patrick, Buzzfest 5 Director of Operations: In the late afternoon, we received a call from Velvet Revolver management asking us to find a throat specialist because Weiland had some serious problems with his voice. We secured a specialist from a connection at Vanderbilt University Medical Center who came over to administer urgent treatment for the problem.

Unfortunately, due to the unexpected problem with Scott's throat and the severity, he was only able to go as long as he did. It certainly took us all by surprise, but we're glad that we were able to get him the proper medical treatment to help him do as much of the show as possible. And, while we certainly would have liked to see them play longer, we understand the nature of his condition and know that we did all that we could...as did he.

Obviously, it was completely out of our hands. We're sorry for any inconvenience, but we are definitely glad that Velvet Revolver could play at all.
