Thanks to Maria: I was so excited I went in a half an hour early. I couldn't enjoy the fair at all. When they came out I couldn't move. I was like oh my gosh Slash and Duff.

Thanks to Christine: Even though I was kinda far from the stage it was a really really really awesome concert!!! I thought Slash did an awesome job with the solos and Scott with the singing. Duff, Matt and Dave don't feel left out because you guys did awesome too!!! I don't care what any one else says you all did a really great job!!! Don't stop now!!! Rock on!!! I could kinda tell the difference between the songs, but it was kinda hard, I think it was because I was soo far back. I was kinda bummed when everyone, but Scott came out at the end to say thanks and Scott just left. You guys all came along way to stop now. I mean you guys have been in soo many successful bands, there's no reason for you guys to stop. Please don't!!! ~*Thanks for your awesomeness.*~

Thanks to Tommy G: I thought the show was very entertaining for the most part. The band seemed to have a lot of energy, even when the crowd seemed to not be into it to Scott. Certainly the smaller venues they have been playing are more intimate, more energy than an arena.

My favorite part of the show was the Aerosmith cover "No More, No More". I know a lot of people (including my girlfriend) there probably dont remember that song or care but they sure should. When you listen to old bands like Aerosmith, Stones and Zeppelin you can certainly hear their influence with these guys, when they were with GnR, Stone Temple Pilots and now Velvet Revolver. Just like when you hear Aerosmith you can hear the Yardbirds and Led Zep or with Led Zep you hear Howling Wolf and Willie Dixon. All I am saying is it nice to hear a band pay tribute to another that came before that certainly had an influence. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.
As far as sound quality that night, just like any venue it depends where you are sitting (or standing actually). Where we were at, fairly close to the speakers it sounded pretty good for an arena. But some friends of mine were on the floor further back and it sounded terrible. Arenas unfortunately are not acoustically engineered for sound quality.

Overall both Velvet Revolver shows I have seen are some of the best shows I have been too.

Thanks to Josue: The concert kicked ass! This is my second time seeing them. Scott was cool, he asked everybody to get closer to the stage!! The only thing that wasn't cool was how long it lasted. It was just over an hour. Everybody in there was suprised. Other than that it rocked and everybody should go see these guys!!

Thanks to LiveDaily: Visually, the Stone Temple Pilots/Guns 'N Roses hybrid Velvet Revolver has it all. A charismatic frontman who could suck in even the most lukewarm fan. A preening, poodle-haired guitarist considered legendary--somewhat prematurely. And a muscular rhythm section that celebrates all things rock 'n' roll.

But Velvet Revolver's sound during its show Saturday at Phoenix's Veterans Coliseum resembled a sonic pit. Instruments bled into one another and lead singer Scott Weiland's vocals were so distorted that they would have made a Pantera concert sound like an acoustically perfect classical performance. If it wasn't for Weiland's introductions or Slash's ax solos, it would be difficult to differentiate one song from another.

The crowd of nearly 10,000 did not seem to mind, however. (the show was part of the Arizona State Fair, and a good chunk of tickets were free with paid admission to the fair.) The 90-minute show was a workout to some fans. They saw Velvet Revolver's performance as celebratory--banging their heads, punching fists in the air and, in some cases, nearly falling off a balcony. Weiland and Slash took a nod from the Godsmack school of stage banter and ripped the crowd-- adamantly yet facetiously-- for not participating. "You motherf-----s must be asleep. Look fans, up here," Weiland said. "You motherf-----s came here to have a good time." Despite the poor sound--which plagued the band's performance earlier this summer at Phoenix's Celebrity Theatre, too--there's no question that these are some of the best players in the business. Matt Sorum's fluid drumming style made his double-charged rhythms seem effortless. Weiland--decked out in a policeman's hat, leather jacket, leather pants and thick eye make-up--pranced around during songs, copping full use of the big stage. Slash is an enigma in his own right. Even though Velvet Revolver has sold a million copies of its debut, "Contraband," it wasn't the whole of Velvet Revolver that seemed the main attraction for this crowd. The main attraction was Slash. The audience would applaud and scream for the flamboyant Weiland, but Slash's riffs drew an uproarious response. Long-haired fans would twirl their manes to the beat as they played air guitar. Other men in the audience would give the "we're not worthy" salute. At one point, Weiland invited the crowd to create an "intimate" setting for Guns 'N Roses' rollicking "Used to Love Her." He encouraged fans to calmly walk toward the stage. "Make sure it's peaceful. Nobody bum rush the stage or anything. When I say, 'Stop,' stop." Obviously very few people listened until Weiland threatened to leave the stage. When the band wrapped up "Used to Love Her," Weiland pushed for "peace, love and understanding." He said to take in the "celebration and take care of one another, all right?" There were a few highlights during the show, after sporadic sound improvements. The driving "Big Machine" garnered a sing-along while Stone Temple Pilots' 1992 hit "Sex Type Thing" united older audience members.

After "Sex Type Thing," Weiland posed victoriously--but this show was a draw at best.

Thanks to Kory Hefner: The best concerts I have ever been to by far. Slash's stage presence is just awesome. The whole band, they just leave you in awe. I can give some complaints though, like not playing long enough! They leave you just begging for more. It was almost a disappointing show, if it wasn't for Scott. Thanks for calling us up dude, it completely made the show. Come back to Phoenix guys, you rock!!!

I just wanted to state that the LiveDaily review was highly inaccurate. The sound quality at both this concert and at the Celebrity Theatre in June, was outstanding. You must have have been standing directly in front of the speakers or something dude. But that is how rock n' roll cocerts are, loud. And when you said, it was hard to differentiate one song from the other. What are you talking about?! Listen to the album! I'll just leave it at that and say great concert guys!

Thanks to Cheryl Charley: What a f***in awesome show!! I've never been to a big rock concert such as this one, but I was truly blown away! It was by far the best birthday present I could have given my older brother!! I was rather surprised that the people who had the best seats (the first 10 rows or so) stood like stone statues through a majority of the show!!! I would've killed for those seats!!! Needless to say, when Scott called for his real fans to join him on the floor, my brothers and I ended up front and center! Totally worth the "red-eye" drive from Albuquerque to see this awesome band!! This was an electrifying show even though Scott's mic seemed to die during the last couple of songs!! Thanks to Scott, Slash, Duff, Matt and Dave for delivering a kick a** show!!! Keep rockin' guys and while yer at it, add a couple of New Mexico shows into the mix! One...

Thanks to Dave Bernard: What a kick ass show! This was my first time seeing Velvet Revolver and I expected to see something spectacular, but my expectations were blown away! It was incredible. My wife Sarah is the biggest Velvet Revolver fan. She is obsessed with Scott and loves Slash. We bought "up-close seats" but snuck forward to about 7th row. The energy was soo powerful. The sound was awesome. These guys are such killer performers. Scott really knows how to work the crowd (I love the bullhorn)and Slash is just electrifying. It was great to see Duff rockin it out and Matt is such a kick ass drummer! I can't wait to see them again. Thank you to my wife Sarah for getting me into Velvet Revolver. And thank you to Velvet Revolver for coming back to AZ and putting on such a great show.

Thanks to Captain Caveman: What a top notch show! After seeing Scott in concert eight times, this was the closest I've ever been to him. Dig that hat man! He didn't have to much to say this time 'round.

The band was in great form, right from the start. They did play Spectacle and Superhuman after Headspace. Spectacle was a real highlight for me, Matt's drums were loud!! Right on target yeah! Every song sounded great, just so much energy being put into everything. That ending of Set Me Free rocks! Illegal I and Slither are turning into different monsters on tour.

Thanks to Chris R: Well let me start off by saying the show was amazing! Velvet Revolver played at the Arizona State Fair and really brought down the house! They opened up with Sucker Train Blues and really got the crowd going. The band sounded better than ever and Scott was on as always. He interacted with the crowd, and really showed what a rockstar he is. At one point he said "this is a song that you may be hearing alot of lately" and then launched into Fall to Pieces. Crowd loved it with lighters in the air and all. Crowd loved the mega-screen close ups of Slash doing his solos and Duff and Dave were rocking out hard! I got the chance to see them when they came before at the Celebrity Theatre and it was the best concert that I have ever seen. Just the band and about 1,000 fans or so. This was an arena concert and didn't feel quite as intimate. However, that's okay cause Scott let everyone that paid for the concert regardless of seat to come down from the risers and onto the first floor during their first oncore. No one pushed or shoved, and everyone rocked out to Used to Love Her.

Thanks to Wicked42: What can we say that hasn't been said and felt already? These guys are doing it up right and I am so damn excited about it. What I find totally cool about them right now, besides being the most rockin band out there is the dimension of people they reaching out to. Most of us are old GNR or STP fans and it's obvious why we love this band, but at the 2 Phx shows there were also so many young kids there just learning about Velvet Revolver and lovin' just like us older rock and roll suckers do. The first show was so incredible and I was so stoked to hear they were returning just a few months later to do Phx once again! Can't wait for show #3 here in Phx, I can only imagine how awesome it is going to be! For anyone who was at the show at the fairgrounds I was the crazy broad carrying that fricking sign around trying to say" Thank You" to the band. I finally made it up to the front but the damn security punks acted like they were the Secret Service and would not let me get that sign on the stage for any reason. That pissed me off, it was a nice sign that simply said just that "Thank You" for sticking it out, for staying friends after Axl almost ruined it for everyone and staying true to Rock and Roll. I hope to meet the guys some day and thank them myself but if someone out there gets the chance please say "Thank You" for me!

Thanks to Preston: This show rocked. This was the first time I've ever seen Slash, Duff, and Matt live. I'm a huge GnR fan, when I heard "Used To Love Her" and "It's So Easy" I tripped. It was a blast, did I mention I had my car towed cause I parked 50 feet within a stop sign in the neighbor hoods across from the fairgrounds where Velvet Revolver played? Oh well, it was worth it to see one of the greatest new bands ever!

Thanks to JennyKitty: This show can be summed up with four words..."Scott Weiland is hot". Ok, so that isn't the whole scoop but that is the first thing that comes to mind. Overall, I think the band's performance was awesome and it is nice to see them continue to gel as a band. (saw them back in June, and while they were completely shreddin' I can tell they are starting to come together more as time goes on) Their stage presence is unbelievable and the years of experience that they have between them comes through loud and clear on stage. They make all those young punk groups look like chumps. Other than the Aerosmith song (snort!), every song was right on. I especially liked Sex Type Thing and of course Slither (their best live performance song so far, probably because it is their most popular so they play it at each show). Each show just leaves me wanting to see more, so they are definitely doing their job well! Right on guys - great show! Thanks!!!

Thanks to Pauline Finley: I have to say this was a great concert. My daughter and I had seen the concert here in Phx. back in June 2004 and it really rocked too. The first concert at Celebrity Theater was a lot more intimate, only about 1200 people. But this concert had about 10,000. The band played awesome. But there seemed to be something missing. The floor seats were acutally seats, so the crowd was not up to the guard gate. I want to say kudos to Scott for telling everyone to move closer. Once that energy came, it wow was a blast. I want to say thank you to Velvet Revolver for the second greatest show I have ever seen and the first being them as well!!!!!
