Thanks to Colin: Velvet Revolver is the best and only new rock band that is good. They actually rock. I went to the show in Worcester it was fuckin awesome. I'm only 14 so I wasn't alive for GNR and I never saw STP. But I know that Velvet Revolver plays Rock n' Fuckin Roll just like there banner said. But when I heard the opening riff to Sucker Train Blues I was freakin out because that song is awesome. Slash is the man! He is my favorite guitarist. Scott was awesome too he has an amazing voice and I thought that it was fuckin awesome when he used the megaphone. Duff was the man with his headband and my nickname is Duff. Dave was awesome standing up on top of the speakers in the front of the stage. And Matt is awesome with his kind of drum solo. Man this was an awesome concert it was just pure ROCK N FUCKIN ROLL! I'm going to see them again in Amherst on May 3rd! I'm psyched!

Thanks to Velvet Revolver fan: I'm 14 and Velvet Revolver is the best band since I was born and I went to the show in Worcester with my friend and it was awesome. The whole concert was amazing it was just pure rock n roll no fire or anything special which shows that they don't need all that special stuff to rock out hard and I can't wait to see them again next year!

Thanks to Ron Guajardo: Velvet Revolver just simply rocked! No fancy set just some lights, audio and a big ass banner that put it plainly: ROCK & FUCKING ROLL. That they surely did! Straight forward rock and roll served up with the intensity of the band. I hope they are here to stay!

Thanks to Donnie Moorhouse from the Republican: We waited for this? While former Stone Temple Pilots front man Scott Weiland rehabbed and relapsed and rehabbed again, rock'n' roll fans drooled over rumors of his pending super group which would feature Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum, once of Guns'N Roses. That group debuted locally Tuesday night at Worcester Centrum Centre delivering a short and wholly unsatisfying 70-minute set in front of a half-full arena. In the empty room, the concert had the feel of a small-time show, a fledgling rock tour that had rolled into town. That was before the show started. The band did nothing to dispel that notion. Velvet Revolver has a single album, "Contraband," and enough hype to warrant the arena tour. They brought little else to the table. Following a recorded announcement to "stop your grinnin' and drop your linen," the band took the stage and opened with "Sucker Train Blues" while a blistering bank of strobe lights flooded the venue. Weiland strutted around the stage, overplaying the front man routine like some odd fusion of Bono's The Fly and the motorcycle cop from the Village People. His main accoutrement for the night was a megaphone, a hackneyed rock tool that was overused long before Weiland's abuse of the mechanism. In fact, if it weren't for the flickering strobe and the megaphone - one of which was used on every song, both were used on most - the band had an empty bag of tricks. It became quite apparent early on, particularly when fans took up a random chant of "Yankees Suck!" during the show, that there was little on stage worth watching. The band worked down the list of their 13 songs from "Do It For The Kids" to "Dirty Little Thing," all the while sounding rushed and unfocused. Weiland announced that "Fall to Pieces" was the song that originally brought the band together and the power-chord rock ballad stood out in the set, but was hardly inspirational enough to warrant forming a band and ruining everyone's Tuesday night. Through "Big Machine" (again sung through the megaphone) and "Set Me Free," the band kept pushing a big rock up a very big hill, getting nowhere fast. When they left the stage after 55 minutes, the crowd seemed stunned. Was that it? Were they coming back? Should we applaud? While the audience mingled in a state of confusion the band was backstage in a quandary. They were supposed to return for an encore, but they weren't being called back with any measurable level of enthusiasm. They came back anyway, and worked up their best song of the night, Aerosmith's "No More, No More." They closed the show with two Guns'N Roses songs, "Used to Love Her" and"Mr. Brownstone," followed by the Velvet Revolver original "Slither."

The Exies opened the show with a 35 minute set.

Thanks to Mike Bean: Absolutly unbelievably incredible show. This is the first show I have ever been to where I even liked the opening act. Everyone had their shit together and if they didn't they did not let it show. Going to see the show in Manchester tomorrow. Can't wait. These guys are better than they have ever been before! Thanks to Ryan Degnan: This was an unbelievable performance. Many people credit Velvet Revolver's fame because of Duff Slash n Dave but really when you go to see the show the person who peeks everyones interest is Scott. Scott Weiland has always put on a good show, even back in his STP days. He makes a performance great and with the theatrics and just raw atounding musical talent of Slash n Duff you just got an emmaculate concert. Thank you Velvet Revolver for giving me one of the best concerts I have seen in my life.

Thanks to Brent: Did anyone else feel the sound blew ass? I wanted to hear those Slash solos that just make you tear up, but it sounded like they were coming out of some cheap headphones. I mean these guys are living legends! They did rock however. Glad to see Scott's hair is red again. Kickin' it ol' school STP. Props to the hussy flashing her rack. Now that is f'in rock n roll.

Thanks to Tom-Ass: The centrum has always been known for shitty sound. The place needs to be leveled. I was on the floor in the middle though and it was pretty good there. Scott was still a bit muffled. I just talked to a couple other people that went who said the sound was "great". They were also on the floor, it depends where you were I guess.

The Centrum holds 15,000 and it was about 70% full. Like I said I was on the Floor so I can't speak for the the rest of the place but the crowd on the floor was nuts. People were crowd surfing all over the place and a couple little pits broke out. People were puffing and enjoying themselves. The crowd went really nuts during the Gn'R and STP tunes the most along with Slither.

The band was tight although the sound wasn't the best. They all sat down and jammed awhile before Used To Love Her and that was really cool. There were actually a few extended jams like in Set Me Free that were cool and at one point Dave went off for awhile! It was pretty damn sweet. One of my two favorite moments were Slash's It's So Easy solo that was intense and the second by far was Illegal I. It may not be peoples favorite but they just fucking jammed out in the middle for like 5 minutes. It was awesome I actually forgot they were playing the song for awhile until they got back into it. This also happend in No More No More when they rocked the fuck out.

Scott - The sound was shitty but he did his job. I have seen them before and STP twice so that was no surprise. The guy can really keep your attention at times I would forget Slash was there.

Slash - He was completely on his game, Slash at his best. Nuff said.

Dave - Also on his game.

Duff - He was Duff.

One thing I was surprised about was there was no stage show. Usually when you play an arena you have some special lights or something. All they had was what they had at the club shows which is nothing. There wasn't even a screen behind them. I don't think I have ever seen a show at an arena without a screen. You really need that type of shit to keep the fans who are seated further back. They had more of a stage show at that free show they did...

Good show over all, I would give it a 7/10. I think Friday in Manchester will be better!!

I feel 15 songs for a headlining band is not enough, especially when you have 3 Kick ass tunes like Dirty Little Thing, Loving The Alien and You Got No Right just being ignored........Superhuman was great by the way!!

Thanks to Michael Pezzullo: This show was awesome. They opened up with Sucker Train Blues and then it just kicked into action. With all of the best Velvet Revolver songs they also played Aerosmiths No More No More and 3 Guns N' Roses songs with a teaser to You Could Be Mine before Mr Brownstone. And they did an amped up Slither that is even better than the Slither we have now. These guys really rock. I'd see them again if I have the chance.

Thanks to Tom Russell: Saw the show last nite. So glad to see Scott in full form. I have been so psyched to see these guys, having been STP and G'n'R fan since the beginning. This is the best "supergroup" to come along in a while, maybe since Audioslave. They fucking rocked the house. They did "No More, No More" by Aerosmith and dedicated it to the Red Sox. How cool is that?! Can't wait for their sophmore effort and wish Scott best of luck w/his legal bullshit. Scott - you're an inspiration to many of us who battle your same problems!! God Bless.

Thanks to Jbat: I want to start off by saying that I'm from Providence, RI so I had to travel about 45mins for the show (not long at all compare to others). Tis was my first time going to the Centrum and I thought it was an alright place. A friend of mine went with me to the show that we originally wanted floor seats for, but the lady at Ticketmaster told me they were "sold out". There was alot of "floor" left, so I don't know. Anyway, The Exies weren't that bad they play for about 30 mins I guess. I usually like heavier stuff, but that's just my taste. I would put System of A Down or Ill Nino as Opening acts, but that's me. While the Exies were playing I noticed (I was seating like at a 45 degree angle from the left side of the stage) that the crowd was just standing there or just seating there. So, I thought they were just saving they're energy for Velvet Revolver. Wrong!!!! I've been to many concerts in my 23 years and I've never seen a quieter and lamer ("more" dead) crowd than last night @ the Worcester Centrum. I saw Velvet Revolver at the Avalon in Boston back in May and that was a good crowd. I went to see Machine Head a couple of months ago at the Palladium, just a few blocks from there and that was a good crowd. Anyway, the list goes on. I know I can't compare a "Heavy Metal" band like MH to a "Hard Rock" band like Velvet Revolver, but still. I don't know how Velvet Revolver did it, but regardless of the crowd, Velvet Revolver put on a great show. The setlist was the same as the show before this one, as expected. Sucker Train Blues...etc. Of course, GNR being my fav band of all time, the highlights for me were the GNR songs. Although I think Ilegal I sounds great live! Well, they all did. Slash dedicated Set Me Free to the Boston Red Sox, which I didn't care for since I'm a Yankee fan lol. I had read somewhere that Steven Tyler was gonna join them onstage but I guess it was just "another rumour". Duff was wearing a bandana like on the Welcome to the Jungle video. I wish they would add Dirty Little Thing to their setlist next time they come around, since is my fav song on the album. All in all, a great performance from Slash, Duff, Matt, Dave and Scott. I had never heard "No More, No More" by Aerosmith, but it sounded good live. Although I think their Negative Creep cover at the Avalon sounded better...

PS.- Velvet Revolver should get some better acts to open, IMO. I read an article where Duff went to a Nickleback show and that he didn't like those type of bands... isn't The Exies those type of bands? Who chooses the bands?..No hate mail from Worcester please, lol!

Thanks to Trustee: What a fucking show. My girlfriend and I arrived at the Worcester Centrum Center at around 7:30. We were sitting in her car waiting and about to walk from the parking lot to the venue when the radio station WAAF or 104.1 WBCN starts playing the entire live show from the Avalon back in May. I was really excited and at the same time bummed out that I couldn't record it from my home. I found comfort in knowing that I was about to go see the real thing in a short time. Anyways cold night in Worcester. We had pit tickets so it was gonna get sweaty and crazy and we left our jackets in the car. After arriving there we saw a band "The Exies" play for about a half hour. Everyone kept telling them to get off the stage and that they sucked. I patiently waited and took my hits of oxygen (yeah;) as I waited for Velvet Revolver. There were some other kids smoking the green as well and offered me a hit. However the kid who had it got very fucking sick a few min later. I wanted to ask him if he was ok and before i could say anything...splat. This motherfucker puked right in the middle of the crowd mind you this is GA section with kids crowded all around. Anyways only a little bit of it got on my backside but this other man had it all over his shoulders and arm. Haha "You owe me a shirt bastard!". This was the worst part of the show. (not the puke the waiting) Velvet Revolver made us wait a long fucking time and I think they finally got on the stage at 9. When Duff started playing the bass intro to Sucker Train Blues the whole place fucking erupted. Slash came out from the side and it went crazier. This was my hero I have wanted to see forever. I was prob 6 or 7 during GnR's prime in 91-92 and never got a chance to see them live. Shit Slash was infront of me. It felt surreal. Leather jacket, a black shirt that said "Got Bail?" and jeans with chains coming down and a fitted bandana coming out the back pocket. He looked so cool. Anyways the best song of the night was hands down Superhuman. It was the first time I heard it live and it did not disappoint. I can still hear it in my head now heh. Let's see what else happened. Scott looked great, Matt was Matt, my gf said "Dave is sooo hot" and uh Duff is still in shape looking great and Slash became real last night for me. When Slash took his shirt off I saw his naval pierced which I thought was wicked gay haha anyways he dedicated 'Set me free' to the "fucking Boston Red Sox" so that was cool. They also hurdled around together for 'Used To Love Her' and Slash did this incredible solo in the begining (reminded me of his GNR stuff before Knocking on Heavens live). Fall To Pieces was calming as usual...my gf and i held each others hands and sang together (aww..pff!) Anyways good show good night. (besides the constant pushing for nothing and people that just pissed us off-guy with the big hat - if your reading this fuck you!) We were both dehydrated after and our bodies were aching and we went home. I had more fun later in the night but it really shouldn't be included here. Hope to see Velvet Revolver again soon and hope they change around the setlist more. Predictable bs=gay. I wanted them to play Surrender so bad. Anyways there's another time.

Just an update here. I thought I would mention Scott announced last night that Big Machine was their next single last night so I dont know about that stuff surrounding Sucker Train Blues. Just thought I would let you guys know.

Thanks to Greg H: My 2nd time seeing Scott Weiland (saw the STP show touring off of No 4 in Lowell MA), first time seeing the rest of the guys live. Excellent performance. They played my favorite STP song Crackerman and favorite Velvet Revolver song Headspace. Energy, energy, energy on that stage! All those guys are in great physical shape! I also loved the GNR songs as well as the covers; nice variety! Will see them again for sure next time round.

Thanks to Wes Beaulieu: They opened with Suckertrain Blues and at the end of the song Scott declared "we are Velvet Revolver, and we play rock and fucking roll!" Later on Slash dedicated "Set Me Free" to the red sox. I don't think I'll ever go to a better rock show. In between they covered Aerosmith's No More and the band had a seat on the front edge of the stage and played a great version of "Used To Love Her" and then ended with an extended amped up (if that's possible) version of slither.

Thanks to Brownstone: I saw Velvet Revolver for the second time last night in Worcester (I also attended the show in Boston in April). Scott and Slash congratulated the crowd of New Englanders on the Red Sox win several times and the show was thouroughly badass. The Exies opened and were received mildly, but did get the crowd into it during their hit "Ugly." I thought they were bland but their bass player was going nuts which was cool. Velvet Revolver came out after a fairly short while and busted into Sucker Train Blues with Duff sporting an Appetite-era style headband. The rest of the concert was a mad blur of energy, with the band and the crowd feeding off one another. This is the first Velvet Revolver show I've seen since the album came out and I was surprised how many people were singing along. I was on the floor, like I was in Boston, (where I was basically in the front row) but this time I was about 30 feet from the stage. There were a few instances of moshing around me and I joined in one, but overall the crowd was mostly singing along, pounding their fists, clapping etc. The band was very well received. One thing I noticed is that Dave Kushner has come out of his shell big time and put on a rocking performance instead of relegating himself to the background. The band performed as a cohesive unit and the songs were executed perfectly. Aerosmith's "No more, no more" was a hilight for me, as it was the one song they didn't play last time. Matt did the intro to "You could be mine" again, before going into "Mr. Brownstone." I would like to see them actually play "YCBM," as I think Scott could pull it off in his own style. Overall the concert was a 10/10, whereas I would rate the Avalon show an 11/10, but mostly because of my proximity to the band and the fact that Velvet Revolver had to make up for no one knowing their songs last time. One problem I had with the fans was the fact that people were chanting Guns N Roses, which is a pretty dick move to the band, who have earned their own place in rock history by now to deserve a few "Velvet Revolver" chants, which I was happy to give.

Thanks to Paul B.: Band was tight. Great sound, same set list as the other shows. Duff needs do a cycle. Scott's eyes were so dialated, they looked like that lunar eclipse from a few weeks back. Anyone catch him spitting on the patron in the front row? Not cool. Just glad I got to see this superband twice. Rock n'fuckin roll.

Thanks to Mary: Last night's show rocked! The opening act was great and when Velvet Revolver came out the crowd went nuts. The New England crowd is all about Slash! They came to worship him for the guitar God that he is and he didn't disappoint.

Thanks to tits & ass: The show was great. We have been checking this site for info about the show since we found it. The show was just as expected and more. All the guys put on a great show. Scott looked great, as did Slash, Duff, Dave and Matt. It was loud and full of energy. We haven't seen a great rock show for a long time. Can't wait for the next time.

Thanks to Mike: All in all, a good show: The opening band (I can't remember their name) was pretty good. Velvet Revolver went on around 9:00 or so. The good aspects: The band sounded and looked really tight. They really jelled as a band. They all sounded and looked great.

The not-so-good aspects: The show was way too short. I think they must have played for only about an hour or so. It was as though they were an opening band (I think the opening band played for as long as Velvet Revolver). They could have played more songs from their album. "Loving the Alien" and "You Got No Right" are two of their best songs. They should have added those to the set list. Also, Slash just kind of played in the background. Only one or two semi-solos. I wish he would have played the theme from "The Godfather."

When I saw Axl Rose's new Guns N' Roses two years ago in Boston, the show started at about 11:00 pm and got out around 1:00 am. The Velvet Revolver show last night ended at around 11:00. So although the wait was pretty long for Axl, I feel he delivered a better show. Robin Finck and Buckethead got the spotlight and got to do solos and they played a lot more songs.

Still, last night was a good show and I'll give it an A.

Thanks to Jade: The show was awesome! The opening band was actually good for once. The Exies were the openers and at first people were not too impressed. However, by the middle of the show they had won the crowd over.

Velvet Revolver was amazing as usual. I was in front row, it was no where near as chaotic as the other shows. This was my third time seeing them. I had seen their Roseland show back in May and their Starland show in July. The set was better this time because they played more songs from their album. It would have been nice if they played You've Got No Right, Dirty Little Thing and Loving the Alien, but it was still an awesome set. Scott looked great, seems like he's been working out. I also noticed he has a new tattoo of his wife on his inner left foream. What more can I say, Velvet Revolver is fucking fabulous as are their performances. I can't wait to catch them again! After seeing them live it always makes me want more. I highly recommend to any Velvet Revolver fan who has not seen them to go if they are playing near you. Velvet Revolver rocks!

Thanks to Mike: Great show! I was interested in seeing how they grew as a group in the past 4 months and if they could pull off a big venue. I saw them at the Roseland Ballroom (a small 1,000 person venue) in NYC in the summer and they made the transition to the larger venue very well. The show did not sell out but the vibe was great and the boys rocked out! Thet did a good job of moving around on stage so that all the fans (new and old) could catch of good glimpse of the gods! They played a great mix of GNR, STP and the new album.

My favorite part was when Matt came out alone in the last encore and started that kickass drum intro to You Could Me Mine, switched to Nightrain and then kicked it into Mr. Brownstone with the rest of ther band! Awesome! Scott was his usual snaky, writhing perfect frontman, Slash ripped it up in his torn jeans, leather coat and classic tophat, and it was great to see Duff rocking out up there. Best show I've seen all year.

The opening act, The Exies, was good, I appreciated them. But it did help knowing 2 of their songs.

Was by the barricades. Bits of the crowd was drunk and unruly. Waited an hour, but it was worth it. Velvet Revolver was absolutely amazing for the full 90 minute set. The covers were incredible (and the drum solo to "You Will Be Mine")! The energy of the crowd was immeasureable, not one I'm accustomed too. But when the crowd wasn't singing, you could barely hear Scott - but I blame the arena for that. My friend had a Velvet Revolveresque hat and got all the attention! Scott even threw his sweat-stained towel to her (but some guys ripped it out of her hands.) And I believed he noticed my old school '94 STP shirt :) My other friend got Duff's pic! They seemed to genuinely enjoy performing, and I appreciated that. So much smiles from Dave and Duff and the whole band. I will never miss out on a Velvet Revolver oppurtunity when they are here or nearby.

Thanks to Ace: Phenomenal performance....all the Velvet Revolver songs were awesome along with a few GN'R and STP songs. This is dynamic group and a must see.....they rock !!!!!!!!!!
