Thanks to barberian123: This show was amazing!! I am a huge fan of both STP and Guns and Roses and have recently become a follower of Velvet Revolver and all I can say is seeing them was basically a religious experience for me. I mean we had to stand in the front for the other bands and wait a while but it was totally worth it!! Seein Slash, Scott and Duff less than 10 feet away rockin out was absolutely crazy. I hope they come back to the DC area sometime soon.
Thanks to Patrick Cable: It was awesome!! They rocked better than anyone else there. I was down on the floor about 30 feet away from the stage next to the mosh pit and the stage performance was amazing. Although Scott didn't show till 45 minutes after they were scheduled to go on stage, it was worth the wait and all the crappy poser fans left which was cool too. The price of tickets, bruises and cuts were also worth the show. Overall it was an awesome show and every song was perfect and improv on top of it all which was great.
Thanks to Velvet Revolvercrue: The other bands sucked except for Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin and Chemical Romance. Velvet Revolver came on late but were amazing. I had a conversation with Dave Kushner, nice guy. Me, my fiancee and my lil bro and cousin were standing right by the backstage area where they come out before getting introduced and all of us started chanting that we love Velvet Revolver and fuck Axl. When Slash and Duff heard that they smiled at my fiancee lil bro and lil cousin and winked. Cool ass guys. I saw them at the 930 club show in my opinion that show was better cuz they played longer and I was front row. But fuck it man they are the greatest group right now. I recommend their show for anyone who is about real rock and not fucking pussy ass rock like Good Charlotte or the Killers.
Thanks to Scott: Velvet Revolver was amazing! Say only the older people like Velvet Revolver but I'm 14 and I think they're the greatest band around right now. I got to scream Velvet Revolver into the mike when they were doing the pre-show thing around 4:00. Scott put on an great show. He went all over the place. He jumped up onto the speakers, so did Slash later, Scott threw the mike stand and used the megaphone to make it twice as loud. My Velvet Revolver shirt will never come off! Slash own! The worth was much worth it. Too bad I didn't see any girls flashing but I did see some lesbians make out..too bad they were ugly.
Thanks to B.T.: Great show! Because of hearing 8 bands before Velvet Revolver my hearing wasn't the greatest, but all in all it was an honor to see Scott with the likes of pretty much the gods of the early 90's! I wish they would have played 3 more including Crackerman. But it was a long and grueling time sitting through 8 bands waiting for Velvet Revolver.
Thanks to Elizabeth: It was really good! They came in 45 minutes late and some people were getting fed up, but they made a great entrance. They played great songs, too.
Thanks to Bree: Fall To Pieces was good and that one older song was too. But it took them almost an hour to get on stage which was quite a pain in the ass. At least half the people left because of that and me and my boy left one after Fall To Pieces we just couldn't take it anymore. Slash was amazing though.
Thanks to Jon: This was a radio station xmas show so there were tons of other bands. Chevelle, The Killers, Jimmy Eat World, just to name a few. I wasn't enjoying myself too much at all. By the end of the show I was really looking forward to seeing if Velvet Revolver could make it worth my time and money. I was looking forward to seeing Matt, Duff and Slash doing thier thing live, even though I wasn't too big a fan of Velvet Revolver from the radio hits. They were 40 minutes late hitting the stage and the crowd was starting to get noisy and restless. When they finally hit the stage I was blown away. I liked the songs I hadn't heard before more than the songs I had heard. The band put on an amazing show and to my suprise, they played an old Guns song. By the time they were done I was totally blown away. They were worth the $70 and it was cool to have a real band play that the 13 year olds weren't into as much.
Thanks to Kim: The show began at 5 pm and Velvet Revolver was to play at 11pm but there was a problem and they did not appear on stage until after 12 midnight. It was well worth the wait! I saw Velvet Revolver in October at Voodoofest but this time was the best. All of the band members are much more relaxed and really played to the crowd - they are all phenomenal musicians.
Thanks to Shoe1: Excellent show. This was a festival event so we had to wait over 5 hours for the other bands to finish and another hour waiting for Velvet Revolver to come on, but it was sooo damn worth it. I guess they took the stage at 12 and rocked for a solid hour. They opened with Sucker Train Blues, which was just amazing. It was great to see them again. And this time the sound quality was much much better. They played through all of the regular tunes and i was suprised to see Superhuman. On the way there we cranked Superhuman so loud but we didn't think they'd play it, but they did and it was amazing. Soo powerful. Scott tried to get us to say something in the middle of Sex Type Thing but no-one could understand him. Something about wanting to be free. He must be pissed still about the election, I can't blame him! Anyways, this was what a rock n roll show should be. These are the other bands that went on before them: Keane, My Chemical Romance, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, The killers, Franz Ferninand, Jimmy Eat World, and Good Charlotte. So the show was all very alternative. But when Velvet Revolver came on it turned into a rock n roll show. Chicks flashing their boobs, making out with random hot chicks during Fall to Pieces and just plain rockin out. These guys delivered. Great show Velvet Revolver. Just simply amazing.
Thanks to Matt Mitchell: I liked it alot they kept the crowd pumped. I could not really hear him sing but maybe it's because every one was screaming and rocking out lol. 5 out of 5 stars
Thanks to Annalisa: Brilliant performance, although they were very late. Sitting through the other bands was definatly worth it. They were very much alive and Slash was stunning. One of the best live bands I've ever seen.
Thanks to Lauren: They did an awesome Job. Moshing and crowd surfing for 7 hours before they came on was well worth it, as I was not tired at all by the time they came on around 12 and rocked until 1. They had sick costumes and it was a really kick ass time. I have a newfound respect for these guys.
Thanks to Kevin F.: This was a great show. They seemed to be in top form. They were very late and the crowd was getting restless. I had sat through several mediocre bands waiting to hear them and had fought my way to the front row and was dealing with the crap you have to put up with there. Finally, they showed. The announcer introduced them as the band that put the 'punk' in punctuality. No one ever did explain what the hold up was. Weiland was yammering about something before Set Me Free...political, I think, but it was too muffled to tell. They had a nice, big stage to work with and they were all over it. It was cool to watch the four guys running back and forth and in Weiland's case, contorting. If you are a fan of this band and you haven't gone to see them live yet, I suggest you do at your first opportunity.
