Thanks to Mark Melton: Wow,wow oh my wow..waited a good hour or so, but it was incredible show. Time once you took the stage...I'd fuckin go any where to see you guys again.
Thanks to Darcy: This concert was just ok. I've seen VR at Mansion. The sound and performance were far superior. The sound at the Hard Rock Hall needs to be improved big time. This is the 2nd concert I've seen here and will not be rushing back. As for VR, the band seemed a bit tired and Scott's voice was not at it's best. Slash, Duff and Matt were very tight as usual. I've seen them play 6 times and they never disappoint. On a whole, I did have a good time and was glad to see the guys. l.o.l.
Thanks to e-dbl: VR just plain ROCKED. The venue was terrible, the seats should have been ripped out before the show, it is nothing like the HR in Orlando. As far as the show goes it rocked as it normally does and I've seen VR six times. I can't wait for the new album guys but until then I am gonna keep rockin with this one. Hopefully the world will wake the "f" up and realize rock is the only real music...out there and VR is the leader. Let's get that pie chart filled with rock--n roll.
Thanks to Rebekah: I thought the show was great and I won those tickets from 93.1. That night was awesome. I was the only person that got on stage and kissed Scott's neck. So Scott if your looking for me you can find me in Texas. I am moving to San Pedro for the season. I right back if you do and if not I kissed your neck once which is enough to hold me over for now. ha till the next concert I go to.
Thanks to Chris: This was my 5th Velvet Revolver show and I'd give it 4/5 stars. The venue was fairly large compared to some of the other spots I've seen them. There were plenty of open seats. Simply put, there just isn't a better rock band on the planet at this moment. My only complaint was that the GA section was filled with chairs! I'd hadn't seen this before from Velvet Revolver. The only thing worse was that there were plenty of fans sitting in the chairs for the entire show. Velvet Revolver does everthing they can to give you one hell of a rock show, but at some point it's up to the crowd to take the energy to the next level. The fans in Chicago and Phoniex were crazy. I know the band is motivated to sell tickets, but the overall experience was far superior at the smaller venues without chairs on the floor. As for being late, who really cares. It was roughly an hour, but the great mix of fans provided ample conversation and a chance to meet some interesting individuals all with at least one thing in common. I just hope they release a DVD soon to tie me over until their next tour. Rock on Velvet Revolver and thanks for writing & performing music the way you know it, and the way we love it.
Thanks to Scott W. Rose: I went to the concert on the 2nd of January and it really really kicked major ass. The only thing that sucked was the facility. The Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, FL, this place really sucks for these kinds of event, I don't really know how many events this place has hold, but let me tell you that if you are in the floor in a Velvet Revolver concert and there are chairs, there is something wrong here; you can not moshpit. Luckily and unluckily I was sitting at the back, the very back. I don't know how this people in the Seminole Hard Rock are planning to have DJ Tiesto there with chair on the floor area. What really pissed me off about the venue was the fact that you had the option to pay 3 different prices for such a small venue. You should only be able to pay one price and do a "first come" basis.
Now that I got that out of my system, let go back to the beginning. I decided to purchase the tickets the day of the event at the box office at the Seminole HR, then realize that since I did that I did not had to contribute to Ticketmaster growth by paying a ridiculous extra $5.50. After that, my wife, her uncle and myself proceeded to spend the $5.50 per person that we save into getting drunk.
We first stopped at the world famous Hard Rock Cafe, were we had some overprice appetizers and had some brewskies. After we realized that getting drunk at the Hard Rock Cafe would be a little pricey we decided to head down to Hooters. The only thing good to come out of this venue was the accessibility there was to get into restaurants and bars...they have quite a handful of'm !
After two pitchers and some cheese fries, we went in the...high school area. We, and I don't mean the three of us, we the about six thousand of us, give or take, waited a bit over an hour. That was until, oh yes my brother, my hears capture a quite familiar sound, a sound like no other, just missing "There was me, that is Alex, and my three droogs, that is Pete, Georgie, and Dim, Dim being really dim, and we sat in the Korova Milkbar making up our rassoodocks what to do with the evening" oh yes my brothers, one kick ass award winning entrances. And there it was Velvet Revolver!
I must say, I am tire of typing shit, so I would just like to say that the concert was an out of mind experience.
Thanks to Velvet Revolvergrl: Omg I had the greatest time last night!
People were so awesome with me and my friend, I wore my Scott Weiland hat and aviator's and my friend was wearing a Slash top hat with her aviator's and everyone was asking to take pics with us! We were walking around the venue before the show started and this guy totally fell in love with us and asked us where we were sitting, and we told him that we were in section 103. He was like omg I'm gonna come get you guys when the show starts so that you can be closer. We didn't take him too seriously cause he was kinda drunk, but once Velvet Revolver came out and were starting the second song he came to get us! So we were closer and we had a blast with him and his friends, he was doing his little Scott Weiland dance it was sooo funny! The guys did awesome, I was so happy when they did STT I was going nuts! The sound was a little bad and I hated the seating, who the hell sits at a rock concert? But whatever it was fun and I hope anyone who went out to this show had a great time also.
Thanks to TopHat: I was not one bit disappointed. True the sound wasn't the greatest but I thought the performance rocked. The crowd didn't get very wild probably because the security at the place was pretty harsh, but in a way it was cool to enjoy the show without having to worry about getting crushed in mosh pits (me being a small girl and all). I thought the guys were GREAT!!!
And did you see the girl that went onstage? I was so jealous, I would have gone straight for Slash though.
Thanks to velvit: After much anticipation on seeing Velvet Revolver for the first time, I was very disappointed. I went to the concert at the Hard Rock January 2. I didn't feel any energy from the band or the crowd. The sound was terrible and the guys just didn't seem to be in to it.
The girl went after Scott and came up from behind and kind of cuddled up to him. I went to Hard Rock about 12:30 to get tickets and stayed till 3:00 trying to see if something better became available and Duff was walking around inside casual laid back and I was tempted to go ask him if he would help me get better seats. lol. I didn't. The girl working the box office was a little witch and try to sell me 207P. I waited til 3:00 and ended up with 202A. Anyway, maybe they weren't as comfortable as they could have been in a diffferent venue. I had never seen them before, so I don't have any other concerts to compare them to. I did get some pics.
Thanks to stontemplpilot: The show was great (aside from crappy seating arrangements) the band seemed very into it and happy. They all were all over the stage, jumping around like their usualselves, rocking out. The setlist was a normal old setlist with the exception Crackerman has been brought back out.
Thanks to Weiland for Prez: Last nite show was awesome they put on a hell of a show. Matt was nailing the drums so hard it was crazy. The only problem was that there were people sitting in their seat like this was a play. I almost got in a fight for not sitting down. You have to feed them energy to make them play a great show. I also thought that Slash played his solos a little longer than usual which was great. Weiland talked about how rock music is for the people during the break at Sex Type Thing, which was great to hear his opinions. Overall it was awesome, can't wait for the new album.
Thanks to Joey M H: Last nights concert in Hollywood was one of there greatest shows...I've seen yet. They sounded great, except for towards the end Weiland's microphone and Slash's guitar kept cutting out for a bit. "It's so Easy" was dead on, it's like Scott channeled Axl's voice or something. That was their best sounding song of the night I think. Scott's Sex Type Thing rant was the best one I've heard yet. I was hung up on every word he was saying. He even calls them his "stereo typical rants". He started on about basically how much bullshit those pie charts were in Rolling Stones. Rock and Roll has a small piece of it, whereas pop has way more. "There hasn't been a real movement in about 15 years" he began to explain and how it is up to us the fans to bring rock and roll out of the shitter.
I was amazed..everything I thought about music nowadays Weiland just up and said it. Although he didn't say rock and roll was dead..it's just been taking a long ass nap. Also a very sexy girl jumped on stage and gave Weiland a hug at the end of Dirty Little Thing I think it was. Dave Kushner was awesome..he did some awesome run and jump which was bad ass. Duff's the man...the reason why I started playing bass, Slash is god and Scott Weiland is the sh*T!!! It was great to hear real Velvet Revolver again for Sorum has returned!
Thanks to Kevin: Last night SUCKED! I have seen Velvet Revolver before and was rocked! I'm a huge fan of GnR STP and Velvet Revolver. But last night was just rude! I drove an hour to the show, no biggie, checked out my seat, not bad and waited. The crowd came in and at 8:00PM show time with no opener the crowd was pumped. But, song after song was played and NO Velvet Revolver! 8:15/8:30/8:45/9:00PM COME ON! The crowd started to boo when ANOTHER song was played finally at 9:20 (1 hour and 20min late)they came out and Scott decided to talk to the crowd, nothing about be late of course. They started up and the sound was very poor to say the least. Some confusion between songs and what not. Very dissapointed.
Thanks to Andre: I must say that it was a great concert. The band rocked the house only two days after New Year's. Scott was in a good mood and he said something about the fact that the last rock movement happened 14 years ago and that it is up to the people and the bands to start a new one.
Well the set list remains the same if you been to any Velvet Revolver concert this past summer. Oh yeah I got to meet Slash as he walked into the casino I even got an autograph.
Thanks to Matt: The concert was great! I saw G'N'R in Dolphins Stadium in '91. I thought is was the last time I would see Slash, Duff and Matt - but last night I saw my rock heroes! Scott was great too!
As for the venue... it sucks, floor seats sucked if your under 5'8. The audio people were awful! I will see them again!
