Additional Info: Van Halen, R.E.M., Patti Smith, The Ronettes, and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Velvet Revolver performed in place of Van Halen and without Roth. Frontman Scott Weiland explained the ensuing controversy: "We were asked to perform. Kinda what happened was, he wanted to sing the song 'Jump.' We felt from an artistic standpoint, and I'm being totally honest with you, that it wasn't a song we felt comfortable with. We don't have keyboards. To bring a keyboard on stage wouldn't work for us. We said we'd do "Jamie's Cryin'" or "You Really Got Me," and he was adamant that wasn't okay."

Thanks to Jeff: I thought VR's performance was one to forget honestly. Weiland's vocals did not really fit "ain't talking..", and I thought the whole performance seemed a bit flat. I am a huge VR fan and have seen them 4 different times, and support them 100%. I just don't think either song really worked for them, and I wish the band had really blown the audience away like they are capable of. Just think if you hadn't been exposed to VR before that performance, would you honestly be really interested to go out and buy an album or go see them perform live after seeing that? Van Halen has tens of classic songs, I wish VR had picked 2 that they really could have pounded out and had fun with.

Thanks to Jeff: I'm a huge Velvet Revolver fan, GNR fan and Van Halen fan, but the performance was not good at all. Slash playing Eddie's stuff wasn't right. Slash is the man, but he sounds nothing like Eddie, who is a guitar god himself. VR was in a tough spot and did what they could, but poor Van Halen. I should say poor Sammy, Mike and DLR. I add Dave because the three of them have to deal with the Van Halens'. What a mockery it was for Van Halen. They are the pioneers of rock after Led Zepplin and they broght rock up to GNR. I give a salute to Mike Anthony and Sammy Hagar for showing up and being as grateful to the induction and there past bandmates who have so many problems. As a huge fan of Van Halen for 20 years I was very dissapointed by the night. Sammy and Mike showed once again it was for the fans. Roth, I understand why he wasn't there, he had it tough. Where the hell was Alex Van Halen. Does Eddie really need him not to go to do better in rehab. Eddie should of went years ago. He could of saved his marriage to Valerie and his marriage to Van Halen.

Thanks to Jethro: I watched the RN'R HOF induction of VH and I must say that VR...was iffy at best. I thought that aside from a slight screw-up on Slash's part at the beginning of Ain't Talkin Bout Love that they kicked ass. Scott really didn't do the song justice, but the others made up for it with kickass playing. Then came the horrible, horrible rendition of Runaround. They did not play it. It was more like a really fucked up jam session for 2-3 minutes where Scott, Duff and Matt yelled "Round Round Round" into their mics. Dave put WAY too much Floyd Rose whammy into the intro. It was a horrible performance through and through, doing an already weak song at best a horrible disservice. If this was their way of getting back into the rock scene before they start a media blitz for Libertad, they got back into the scene for all the wrong reasons. I think half of it might have been that in between recording and mixing they had no time for really practicing, but if that was the case then they shouldn't have done it. All in all, great Ain't Talkin Bout Love, wtf were they smokin for Runaround?
