Thanks to Bella: I wanted to punch the audience with a giant fist. They wouldn't even raise their hands or sing along to the classics. Even Scott commented on it between songs, that's how dead everyone was. They basically went all the way to Ohio to zero reception, because they were totally out of place among the nu-metal fans.

Granted, these people were drunk as hell by the time their set came around (we saw people carried out by the dozen by 4pm), but no excuse to give no energy at all...just really insulting.

Thanks to VRluvr: I was at the show in Columbus, and it did seem like there were few VR fans in the crowd. I waited down front all day through a lot of bullshit just to see VR. They came out on time and seemed to be having a great time on stage. I will try to post pics later ...

I had a Slash moment after the show. He was getting into the van to leave the venue (just missed getting an autograph). I was able to see him clearly inside the van and was able to tell him that I love VR and I love him. He acknowledged me with a beauthiful smile (that truly rocked my world!) and what seemed like a shy shrug. Matt rushed by us, got into the van and then they left the venue.

I just love those guys and always feel fortunate when I can see them live. Rock On!

Thanks to Ian Masters: This was my third time seeing Velvet Revolver. First was at Rolling Rock Town Fare 5 in 2004. Second time was at Chevrolet Ampitheater in Pittsburgh, and this time was at Rock on the Range in Columbus. Rock on the Range was a good show (VR is always leaps and bounds above all other bands live). This show wasn't the best sound wise I've ever heard VR, but the new tracks were promising. Let It Roll, Quick Machines and Just Sixteen were all great.

The venue was terrible howeve, and during the Chevelle set, my girlfriend who I had bragged up VR to for months, was hit by a crowd surfer hard in the back of the head and bled profusely. After rushing to the medical station we couldn't get back into the close position we had and we watched (her battered and bloody) from the stands. Scott still came through though with a hell of a performance.

I can't wait to see VR at their headlining tour, the festival setup just doesn't do them justice. The venue and sound at the Columbus show were terrible. But, soon I'll be searching for the next chance to be blessed by the presence of VR and to take my girlfriend to a more intimate show, with a longer setlist...

It was also cool to see Vasoline played, as both times I had seen VR in the past they played Sex Type Thing as their STP cover.

Thanks to Kyle: Absolutely amazing. I was able to sneek into the feild section in order to get up real close. They opened up with Let It Roll and got weird stares from my friends when I already knew most the words haha. Do It For The Kids was amazing, Sucker Train Blues was cool. She Builds Quick Machines was killer. VASOLINE WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE ENTIRE SHOW!!!!! I was so happy they played that. The rest of the show sounded incredible especially The Last Fight and Slither. The crowd was a lot less energy during VR but that was ok cause down in the field it was amazing. Thank you so much for playing an awesome show. All the bands were amazing actually except for 3 Days Grace and Chevelle.

Thanks to Phisith Van: Rock on the Range show was decent. The sound was way off as they kept adjusting for different parts of the songs. The crowd was mostly dead. I don't understand how anyone could like Hinder and not be excited for VR. Crowd didn't respond very well. Lots of interruptions in the crowd as drunks kept trying to rush the field (which was limited to first 10,000 people). Crowd was mostly into people getting into scuffles with security. Scott commented on the crowd telling them they're sitting down and looking like a steak dinner was on the way. He said "I ain't delivering it." Anyways, the show in D.C. was a lot better (at least there was 1000 people there that were into the band). I don't even recall 1000 people at Rock on the Range being in VR.

Thanks to P.J. Larmark: The show was nothing short of amazing. I've seen VR 6 times now and I still get the same chills when I see their presence. They opened with Let it roll and really got me excited for the new album. They also played The Last Fight, She Builds Quick Machines and Just 16 from the new album. Also on the setlist was Do It For The Kids, Sucker Train Blues, Fall To Pieces, Set Me Free and Slither from Contraband and they covered Vasoline and It's So Easy. Unfortunately, it was a festival so they could only play for an hour but it was well worth the trip from Miami just to see them.

Thanks to Brian: I thought they sounded great. The new tunes were awesome and SBQM sounded really well. But, to me, the crowd didn't seem to be as into as I thought they would. Every time someone in another band would mention who was going to play, VR always got the biggest applause. But when they hit the stage some of the enthusiasm was gone. I don't know if it was because they were playing unfamiliar songs, people were wore out by that time or what. But I thought they played well and had a lot of energy and the new songs were awesome.
