Thanks to TC: Great, great show in Austin last night! The small outdoor venue - Stubbs BBQ - was perfect for VR to play loud and very clear. The band is tight, and Slash is playing better than I have ever heard him in the studio or live. Scott's voice was strong, and he pulled off the GNR songs well. The VR songs play better live than on the albums. People in Vegas and CA need to catch the remaining shows on this tour!

Thanks to Aaron (Meltdown07): Good show last night. A little cold. The boys were noticeably more slow that usual. Dave was bundled up like the stay-puff marshmellow man for the first several songs. Same set list as Detroit.
Scott stopped the band after Matt started Sucker Train to tell the audience about his teeth:
According to Scott: He was in Europe some time ago, and was "kidnapped" by 3 big guys and beaten up. "One tooth is cracked, and the other one just fell out. But I am alive, and thats all that matters. Thats what happens when we get kicked or fall down, we get up and keep on trucking"
He introduced FTP as a "breaking up song, getting together song, and a kicking dope song"
I agree with some previous sentiment that Scott is reaching out/crying for help. After 'Wish You Were Here' he said something to the effect of "we all have someone we still wish was here today". I think he's pretty down about his brother. Poor guy. I hope things with him and Mary are going okay.
All in all, pretty good show, although I've now see the same damn setlist 4 times since Libertad came out. Getting a little sick of it. I wish these guys would mix it up a bit. The only one I hadn't seen them perform before was American Man, which was very good.
Scott was pretty talkative over the course of the night and pretty funny too. He commented about how 'Patience' is one of those songs you hear on the radio and say 'God damn, I wish I wrote that one'.
The guys seemed to be getting along well. Scott spent some time with his arm around Slash, grinding on Dave, helping Matt hit the drums at the end of set me free, etc. Duff was the only person I never saw Scott engage. Maybe there is a riff between those two. The rest of the band seemed pretty tight.
All in all a pretty great show. The boys were tight and sounded great. Definitely got my money's worth. I'd just like to see a bit more variety.
